The machine operator role involves multiple stages in the manufacturing, packing, and shipping of checks, requiring a combination of computer and mechanical skills. • Load paper into a printing press that prints checks, troubleshoot paper jams, ensure customer information is correctly printed ensuring quality control. • Operate bindery equipment, where in which checks are fed into the machine in order to glue and staple them into a checkbooks, requiring strong mechanical skills. • Oversee the automated wrapping and conveyor system to ensure that the proper inserts are added and that the system accurately wraps the checks into plastic to ensure proper flow. • Scan barcodes to determine the correct shipping method, print labels, match and sort packages for proper mailing. • This position requires standing on feet for up to eight hours, the ability to lift 15 pounds, strong organizational skills, and keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy throughout the process.
