We are currently seeking a Chemical Production Operator E for our Springfield, OR location. Reporting into the Production Supervisor, this position is an entry-level, full-time position, and Operator is responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the manufacturing and processing of resins and formaldehyde. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with HSE - Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and Arclin's policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.
Starting pay - $25.31/hr for Operator E; (can advance to Operator C with time and experience)
Starting pay - $33.38/hr for Operator C; (further advancement opportunities available)
Chemical Production Operator Job Responsibilities:
Manufactures resin and formaldehyde safely and according to procedure.
Unloads and loads raw materials and finished products following established procedures (tanker trailers, railcars, box trucks, and bulk trucks)
Operates a forklift to load/unload raw materials (drums, totes, bags)
Collaborates with management to meet the production and shipping schedule
Ensures required shipping documents are completed and procedures are followed to be in compliance with all regulations and corporate requirements
Participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements
Follows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment
Visually monitors processes within their area of accountability and immediately informs the Lead Operator of any deviations or abnormalities
Works in close coordination with the Lead Operator to accomplish the tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production and maintenance schedules across all processes
Communicates and confers with the Lead Operator as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality
Responds to process alarms and interlocks promptly and coordinates timely confirmation and corrective actions to resolve conditions generating the alarms and interlocks
Performs In-Process Checks (IPC's) to verify batch progression and quality using laboratory equipment (GC, Titrator, pH meter, etc.)
Performs troubleshooting in the event of process deviations
Perform routine housekeeping such as sweeping, powerwashing etc.
Chemical Production Operator Job Qualifications:
Must be ok with rotating 12 hour shifts. (Days/Nights/Evenings rotating every week)
Experience with rotating shifts preferred
Able to work independently
High School Diploma Required or GED.
Forklift experience a plus but must be able to become certified.
Capable of operating rail mover unit or willing to learn.
Analytical and mechanical mindset needed to be successful in this role.
Previous chemical/ manufacturing experience a plus.
Must be ok with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Ability to sit, stand walk and climb frequently working in elevated areas.
Will lift an average of 50 lbs. frequently.
Basic computer skills required.
DCS Distributed Control Systems experience a plus
Basic math skills required including the use of a calculator.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Terminal Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a cement distribution terminal. It requires the hands-on operation and occasional maintenance of all terminal equipment, developing a proficiency in bulk truck and bulk railcar operations.
Safety, quality, and customer service are the primary focus of the terminal. The terminal receives product by bulk rail transport, stores the product, and loads customer bulk trucks.
The manner in which trucks are expedited, customers are handled, and qualities are ensured are key functions of this position. This is a safety sensitive position. A positive attitude, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to be a team participant in a small cross-functional group are essential elements for a successful terminal operator. + Comply with all known Local, State and Federal Laws and Regulations
+ Load bulk trucks correctly, provide legal weights and proper product for customer delivery/pick-up.

+ Perform clerical functions following the established guidelines for the recording of receipts, shipments and inventory records.
+ Responsible for unloading railcars, transferring of product into proper silos, sampling and testing of products received and shipped.

About the Distribution Center Team
Bi-Mart's distribution center, truck shop, and logistics department are based in Eugene, Oregon, supporting 84 stores across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Our fleet of trucks is maintained by skilled mechanics and driven by dedicated drivers with exemplary safety records.

About the Position
Equipment Operators use elevated picking and loading power equipment to select and transport products of varying weights, sizes, and shapes. + Operate foot shears, both manual and air.
+ Identify defects visually and ensure quality standards are met.
+ Assemble and build wood shipping containers.
