Responsibilities:
Apply hand tools such as files, steel brushes and cutting tools to remove burrs and to ensure smooth surfaces.
Polish metal surface as specified on manufacturing drawings.
Select deburring materials and tools and process machined components to remove burrs, sharp edges, dents, scratches and other surface defects.
Verify dimensions where deburring could affect diminished dimensions.
Visually and tactually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness

Will use large earth-moving machines, such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, and frontend loaders and/or other huge machinery to lift, haul, push, roll, load and move aggregate and related materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Operate loader to fill bins with aggregate and other materials essential for asphalt production.
Safely maneuver loader in and around the plant, ensuring material flow aligns with production demands.
Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs, and report any equipment issues to plant management.
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment.
Assist plant personnel with a variety of tasks that may arise throughout the shift, including material handling, equipment adjustments, and general site organization.
Participate in housekeeping efforts to keep plant and loading areas clean and organized, minimizing hazards and downtime.
Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, maintaining a safe environment for all team members.

Qualifications
Experience:
1-2 years of loader operating experience, preferably in an asphalt plant or similar industrial setting.
Skills:
Proficient in operating heavy machinery, particularly loaders.
Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine equipment maintenance.
Strong work ethic and a cooperative approach to handling various plant tasks as needed.
Knowledge of Safety/OSHA guidelines and adherence for your safety and others.

The **Loader Operator's** primary function is to operate a Loader at the site of work to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building type structures; equipment operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed **Southland Holdings**

**Duties/Responsibilities:**
•Operates a Loader to complete tasks such as move and/or transport materials such as dirt, rocks, and other types of aggregate
•Must have knowledge of operating procedures as it pertains to loading and unloading materials
•May oil, grease, service, and make normal maintenance adjustments on equipment; perform daily safety and maintenance checks; complete paperwork and other documentation as needed
•May perform other related duties as required
**Required Skills/Abilities:**
* Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
* Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
* Thorough understanding of construction principles and methods.
* Works well as part of a team.
* Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly
* **Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening**
**Education and Experience:**
* High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required
* 2+ years of loader operating experience, preferably with roadways or bridges.
**Physical Requirements:**
* Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
* Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
* Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.
* Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
* Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
