Under manager supervision, The Compost Laborer supports day-to-day operations at the compost facility, including bagging compost, spraying weeds, mowing site vegetation, and loading trucks. This position requires the ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions, operate light machinery, and follow safety protocols.
Essential Functions

Cut, drill, bore, and turn materials to create parts according to blueprints and specifications.
Machine parts to dimensions and tolerances as specified on blueprints.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and precision standards, making necessary adjustments to the machine or the parts themselves.
Detect and report defective material or questionable conditions to supervision.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow and enforce all safety regulations and company procedures.
Key Requirements:
Ability to read and use a tape measure and other measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
Proficiency in operating lathe machines and using various cutting tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills for interpreting drawings and specifications.
Good problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to safely operate and use an overhead crane.
Physical ability to handle materials and operate machinery.
Familiarity with computers and Windows-based programs is a plus.
Must follow and enforce strict safety regulations, including proper use of PPE (safety glasses, mask, steel toe shoes).
Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Job Description: Operate a hydraulic lattice boom or telescoping type crane to hoist and move materials, raise and lower heavy weights and perform other related operations.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid, OSHA-recognized crane operator certification (NCCER, NCCCO).
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Operate crane to lift, move and position loads as required by the job.
Pre-Operation inspection to ensure crane and all of its components are in proper working order.
Maintenance reporting of any mechanical issues
Comply with all safety policies and follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safety of everyone on site.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Load assessment determining the weight and balance of loads to avoid overloading the crane.

What will you do?
You will setup and operate Multi Axis Combinations of Turning and Milling Cells, including 2 to 3 machine cell assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
Work from process sheets, blueprints, or other written/verbal instructions given by supervisors to perform production tasks.
Maneuver large, awkward, and heavy parts manually or with a crane.
Setup, operate, and tend machines used to process components.
Install, align, and lock dies, punches, blades, or other machine fixtures to assure safe operation of machine.
Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner.
Check and inspect operation against predetermined tolerances.
Work in other areas or departments as assigned.
Third Shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am (Sunday - Thursday)
