Based in Tucson, AZ, youll perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a Sanitary Wastewater Treatment Plant (SWTP). Youll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance, establishing and maintaining effective sample procedures of plant operations, effluent, and providing effective solutions to complex challenges that may arise. Responsible for operating and maintaining various heavy equipment, including but not limited to trench excavators, backhoes, and loaders in a safe expeditious manner in accordance with OSHA safe practices. Responsibilities Operate a variety of heavy equipment for underground utility projects. Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects. Locate underground services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work. Understand proper backfill requirements. Perform safe and clean trench excavation and backfill. Set and pull shield shoring and trench boxes in accordance with OSHA safe practices. Safely change buckets and attachments in a timely manner Able to calculate and set proper grades and elevations. Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met. Prepare and maintain equipment for safe daily operations (i.e. fuel, grease, etc.) Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
