MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Three (3) years of closely related experience. Constructs and maintains gravel roads, drainage ditches, and soil berms. Monitors solid waste for prohibited or potentially hazardous materials. Transfer Station Operates a track excavator and front-end loader to load semi-truck trailers. Assists with the processing and loading of recyclable materials. Monitors solid waste for prohibited or potentially hazardous materials. Coordinates activities with waste inspectors and operates equipment to clean the facility of litter and debris. Flood Control Installs, repairs, and maintains storm drain lines, storm drains, and catch basins to prevent flooding. Assists with tree trimming, flagging, filling and placing sandbags, and removing ice jams from streams. Maintains pressurized and non-pressurized irrigation systems, including repair and maintenance of sprinkler systems. Operations Performs journey-level road and highway-related construction, maintenance, and repair projects, including placement and removal of asphalt and concrete, along with snow removal and crack sealing. Requires bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 60 lbs. on an intermittent basis. Constant exposure to traffic hazards, extreme heat and cold, noise, dust, fumes, grease, and unsanitary conditions.
