About the role
The P/U Operator will be responsible for supporting plant operations and maintenance during evening hours. This position requires a strong understanding of plant systems, troubleshooting, and hands-on skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct steam blows, line warm-ups, and customer steam line startups.
Perform weekly steam line walkdowns and quarterly steam trap audits.
Provide vacation relief for operations and supervisory roles as assigned.
Rebuild and repair primary and secondary sump pumps.
Perform monthly and quarterly valve greasing.
Complete sootblower preventive maintenance, including packing adjustments and pressure checks.
Repair DBA and EFW drum gauge glasses.
Clean heat exchangers for building HVAC systems, boiler house, administration buildings, CEMS, and precipitators.
Order and install filters for air handling units, cooling fans, and related components.
Charge glycol systems for heating and chiller systems to specified gravity levels.
Provide shift coverage for absent operators, including roles such as Shift Supervisor, Control Room Operator, Assistant Control Room Operator, Tipping Floor Operator, and occasionally Crane Operator or BEO.
Assist maintenance during nighttime repairs that require additional manpower (e.g., roller grate clutch repairs, gearbox replacements, drag repairs, crane repairs).
Support operations during plant upsets or tube failures.
Lead contractor groups during outages and specialized cleaning (blasting, water wash, condenser cleaning, etc.).
Train new operators on plant systems, layout, and operating procedures.
Serve as a member of the confined space rescue team and act as a designated entry supervisor.
Address and resolve issues reported through Teams on turbine generators.
Maintain and replace filters on equipment including Atlas and IR air compressors, TG lube oil systems, generator air filters, cooling fans (ID, OFA, ULCs), crane systems, logic rooms, control rooms, AVRS, 5kV/480V rooms, and HVAC systems for administration and operations areas.
Act as a qualified permit technician.
Utilize welding, light fabrication, and plumbing skills for minor repairs.
Grease A/E main bearings and shear walls twice per week.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or Shift Supervisor.
The expected hourly pay rate for this position is $36.00 - $42.00.

Forklift Operator Responsibilities:
Responsible for operating a forklift in the warehouse and production areas of the plant.
Prior to shift start, ensure propane tanks are filled and forklift equipment is properly blown out and all fluids checked.
Grease fittings if needed.
All raw materials are to be stacked in a neat and orderly fashion.
The warehouse is to be swept daily and trash bins emptied when full.
All trucks loaded are to have proper paperwork before being loaded (packing slips and weight ticket). All trucks loaded are to be counted and recounted by another associate and both persons sign off that the proper amount of product has been verified and loaded.
Packaging slips must be attached to all loads and packing slip enclosed.
Load seals must be attached to all trucks by the forklift operator before the truck leaves the dock area. Plywood is to be stacked during the teardown of pods.
When the plywood rack is full, it is to be banded and stacked for later use.
Re Stacks and bags returned to system must be worked on daily and recorded.
Seat belts are to be worn at all times and the lift must be operated at a safe speed.
Junk pallets are to be stacked and put in their proper place until they can be disposed of.
Clean up warehouse at the end of shift.
Responsible for assisting other production areas, as needed.
Move and wrap completed products.
Assist the Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
Any other duties as assigned.
Forklift Operator Qualifications/Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
Will require good eye, hand and foot coordination.

• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required: Safety glasses and shoes, hearing protection and gloves, long pants and covering for the upper torso.
o Caster PPE includes requirements include wear of full cover Uniform (flame resistant fabric), safety shoes/caster boots, aluminized leg spats, face shield, high temper hard hat and aluminized gloves (as required).
• Prepare and send metal samples to lab for analysis. Calculate and make adjustments,
weighing additions to heats, as required to bring chemistry to specified levels. Maintain
accurate records of melt activity and information.
• Operate Overhead Crane to remove copper cake.
• Perform Safety Observations; provide feedback of production or safety issues on machine.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are also desirable:

EQUIPMENT, MACHINES AND SOFTWARE USED:
Ability to operate industrial fork trucks/lifts, overhead crane, back saw, and computer to send/receive email messages, post information to a database, and perform basic email and/or data entry in ERP System.
Accurately read calipers and measuring instruments determine inventory amounts and customer requirements. With training ability to cutting machinery (saw and/or lathe).
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment including safety shoes, gloves, and safety glasses when performing certain job duties.
Eligible staff with NYS CDL or Class B license and training may drive company commercial vehicles.
MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS
Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, setups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.
May be required to operate equipment in congested areas involving considerable variety of movement.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

COMPENSATION
The hourly range is government set minimum wage up to $25.00/hour plus discretionary incentive.

Base pay starts $19.50 per hour
Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
Duties and Responsibilities
Packaging and labeling material for loading and distribution
Responsible for quality control of finished products
Working with hand tools, wrenches, banding equipment, screw guns
Using measuring gauges and tape measures
Communicate with team members to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials

Qualifications
Physical Stamina and Strength
