Grignard Company, LLC is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Chemical Operator II to join our production team. This position is responsible for executing a wide range of chemical manufacturing and packaging tasks in accordance with our ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a chemical production environment and a strong understanding of standard operating procedures, quality control, and safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Receive, verify, and document incoming raw materials in collaboration with warehouse and laboratory personnel
Manufacture chemical batches in accordance with approved Manufacturing Reports and Work Tickets
Inspect and sanitize production equipment prior to use to prevent contamination
Maintain accurate records of raw material lot numbers and finished product batch information for traceability
Collect and submit retain samples to the QA Laboratory for approval
Package finished products in containers of 5 gallons or more, ensuring all labeling and documentation is complete and accurate
Coordinate with Quality Control and Operations teams to address any product discrepancies or quarantines
Assist in preparing shipments and maintaining compliance with packaging and shipping procedures
Complete all required forms and reports accurately and submit them in a timely manner
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred
Minimum of 2 years' experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industrial environment
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, GMPs, and chemical handling procedures
Ability to read and follow technical documents and work instructions
Strong attention to detail, safety, and compliance
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a production setting

We are currently seeking to hire a Production Operator for our Port Newark, NJ vegetable oil manufacturing facility. The Production Operator is involved with the successful daily operation of the facility on a 7-day a week rotating shift basis. Assist other refinery operators in tasks requiring additional manpower.
Perform housekeeping support to refinery and roads and grounds as directed.
Assist maintenance employees with their tasks as able and as requested.
Use the forklift and other company tools and equipment in proper and safe method.
Perform designated minor maintenance tasks using hand tools.
Communicate effectively with the shift supervisor on issues and problems that may occur.
Leave your worksite in the best condition possible anticipating a busy day.
Use the computerized work order system and put in work orders for the shift supervisor to evaluate.
Participate in company activities such as; Safety Committee, Audit committees, employee task forces, etc. Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing wastage in pursuit of your daily work.
Support goal of minimum part sparing consistent with production goals and local vendor support services.

* Train and mentor junior colleagues

Follow project specifications and safety regulations to complete utility and site work projects efficiently.
Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.
Work closely with site supervisors and other crew members to ensure job site safety and efficiency.
Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery before and after use.
Handle excavation work, trenching, grading, and backfilling as required by the project.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and union safety regulations at all times.
Assist with site preparation and cleanup as needed.
Qualifications

NYC DOB 40-Hour SST Certification

Experience:
Prior experience operating heavy equipment in a union setting.
