Experienced Welder needed for a growing Industrial Construction Company! In this position, it will be your responsibility to cut and join metals and other materials at our facility or industrial sites for an industrial construction company. The primary way in which you'll do this is by welding together different types of metals from stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, etc. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. Pay & Benefits $26 to $32 Per Hour (Based on Experience) $1000 Attendance Bonus PTO, Health Insurance, Supplemental Health Insurance, & 401K Job Requirements: Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements) Use clamps, brackets, and/or hangers to secure weld site Remove slags and rough spots from workpieces by operating grinders or scrapers to ensure smooth work surface Employ their knowledge of metallurgy to determine materials and equipment most suitable for a welding project Clean and prepare workpieces using chemical solutions etc. to remove foreign matter such as grease, rust etc. Use heating furnaces to preheat metal pipes prior to welding or bending Cut and shape metal components to set specifications using power saws, chipping knives or other hand tools Fill holes, cracks, and dents on metal workpieces Use micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments to check gap allowances, grooves or angles Control and turn valves or regulators to adjust flames and ensure proper use of welding gas Wear appropriate protective gear and ensure compliance with established health/safety regulations Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws, “weld as if every weld will be X-rayed and inspected” Any other duties assigned Qualifications: Pass a 6G Monster / Small Bore Coupons and/or 2G, 3G, 4G Structural Plate Test All weld tests will meet the ASME IX acceptance criteria and will be X-ray tested Proven experience as a welder Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, Flux Core, etc.) Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.) Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.) Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads Physically demanding Bending, crouching, kneeling, etc. Minimum Tools Required for Welders: Steel Toed Boots Hard Hat Gloves Ear Plugs Tape Measure (25' minimum) 10” Adjustable Wrench 12” Adjustable Wrench 2# Hammer Channel Locks Flat & Phillip Head Screwdriver Sets Torpedo Level 18” Level Combination Wrenches from 1/4” to 1” & 8mm to 24mm 1/2" Drive Ratchet w/ Socket Sets from 7/16” to 1 1/4" & 11mm to 28mm Vice Grips Hacksaw Allen Set Standard & Metric Framing Square (2) Pairs of C-Clamps (i.e. 4 total) Chisels Drift Pins Center Punch Round File Half Round File Plumb Bob Welding Gear Required: Hood Welding Gloves Tig Rig & Stinger (Pipe Welder) Stinger (Structural Welder) Wire Brushes Chipping Hammer Diagonal Cutters Striker Wrap-A-Round #ST
