Job Summary and Essential Job Duties:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of the Optimax facility. Candidate must be willing to work alongside maintenance department to achieve departmental goals.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), optical manufacturing technicians will:
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, cleans, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
Dusts and washes walls, cleans overhead equipment, such as pipes, ceilings, light fixtures, air ducts, etc.
Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
Keeps lavatories clean and supplied.
Performs a variety of housekeeping jobs.
Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Will work alongside Maintenance department.

Education Requirements:
A High School Diploma or GED required.

Intermediate knowledge of trade mathematics including plane geometry and the use of trigonometric functions and machinist handbook formulas

The Optical Coating Support (Beadblast) Technician position provides critical support to the coating production team through various pre- and post-coating processes.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), the Optical Coating Support (Beadblast) Technician will:
Prepare vacuum coating machines for optical coating processes;
Operate beadblast equipment in accordance with prescribed method in order to remove surface contaminants and impart proper surface finish
Clean and store metal fixtures in preparation for use in optical coating processes
Maintain adequate supply of bead in beadblasting equipment
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
Perform a variety of other tasks following additional training and competency as required by position

Mount work and tooling pieces on holding fixtures and machines, using adhesive, friction, or vacuum;
Select premixed compounds or mix grinding, polishing, and holding compounds according to formula;
Grind and polish optics to specifications;
Learn to operate Interferometers, coordinate measuring machines and other advanced testing equipment
Inspect in-process optics for conformance to specifications.

Job Summary and Essential Job Duties
The Optical Component Inspector position provides critical support to the production team by performing in-process and final visual inspection of optical components used in highly challenging applications. This candidate in this role enjoys working with both data and hands-on tasks, and utilizes state of the art measuring equipment to verify adherence to customer specifications.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), the optical component inspector will:
Aid Optical Technicians in identifying whether or not optical components meet surface quality requirements by looking for surface defects (pits, scratches, unpolished areas, bubbles, chips);
Ensure all data is present and within specification on in-process and incoming data sheets;
Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, industry standards, inspection data, and customer data;
Wrap and package parts for eventual shipment or storage;
Verify that proper equipment is used and inspection standards are followed; may provide training to Optical Technicians on these topics; and
Measure and evaluate product to customer specification using various metrology equipment.
Education Requirements:
A High School Diploma or GED required. No prior experience required.
Minimum Requirements:

Ability to use the following equipment: gauges (micrometer, calipers, and drop gauges), microscopes, surface profilers, interferometers
Demonstrate basic math skill competency, including: decimals and unit conversion (standard/metric)
Strong multi-tasking skills
Initiative and mental concentration to learn new skills and techniques
Prior experience inspecting/handling optics is a plus

The Senior Process Engineer position is a blend of technical expert, problem-solver, project leader and mentor. Responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. This hands-on role works on manufacturing and measuring precision optics and contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Through On the Job Training (OJT) and utilization of prior experience, the Process Engineer will:
* Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting development projects; apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; confer with equipment vendors; solicit observations from operators;
* Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; research, design, modify, and test manufacturing methods and equipment;
* Review customer drawings and requirements for manufacturability and collaborate with customer and internal resources to ensure desired performance can be achieved;
* Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; test finished-product and process capabilities; establish standards; confirm manufacturing processes;
* Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians;
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review professional publications; establish personal networks; participate in professional societies;
* Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers or operations staff
* Perform other duties as outlined by the Engineering Manager.
