Job Summary and Essential Job Duties:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of the Optimax facility. Candidate must be willing to work alongside maintenance department to achieve departmental goals.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), optical manufacturing technicians will:
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, cleans, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
Dusts and washes walls, cleans overhead equipment, such as pipes, ceilings, light fixtures, air ducts, etc.
Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
Keeps lavatories clean and supplied.
Performs a variety of housekeeping jobs.
Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Will work alongside Maintenance department.
Advancement through the ranks is attained via increasing levels of education, experience, industrial skills, math skills, computing skills, responsibility and leadership potential and effectiveness.
Education Requirements:
A High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical training and prior experience working in industrial settings is preferred but not required.

They work to industry standards inside a clean environment with apparel provided. They will operate various interferometric testing equipment accompanied by mechanical instruments to record and manage test data.

Add specific job responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, specification sheets, standards and customer data
Inspect optical parts for surface defects such as pits, scratches, unpolished areas, bubbles, and chips, in accordance to industry requirements
Measure and record lens dimensions, such as thickness, radius of curvature and surface figure/roughness on in-process inspection data sheets
Verify all data is present and correct on in-process inspection data sheets according to customer requirements
Contact team members and team leaders when discrepant material is identified
Provide quality audits to verify inspection processes are being carried out and work with opticians on a continuous basis

Job Summary and Essential Job Duties:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for supplier development, quality performance monitoring and reporting on the quality of manufactured optical components, issuing resolution, and continuous improvement across the supply chain. This role frequently interacts with suppliers for quality-related matters and interprets and assesses product adherence to quality-related material, component and services specifications.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), Quality Supplier Engineer will:
Work in conjunction with Purchasing to evaluate, qualify and approve new suppliers
Work independently or with internal teams and suppliers to establish and document root cause and implement corrective action for Customer and Optimax requirements
Perform evaluation of Supplier First Article Inspection documentation (FAI) and sign off as needed
Work with Purchasing Team on defining vendor data packages
Provide engineering level support to quality inspectors responsible for compiling vendor data packages
Provide resources for and participates in supplier audits
Regularly conduct internal ISO audits and supports annual ISO audit as a member of the ISO core team
Develop, practice, and provide guidance in metrology processes associated with optical and optical system components
Spend extended periods of time in a clean room environment supporting optical and optical system component inspection as needed
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Complete QA specific engineering initiatives or other duties as assigned by the QA manager individually or as a team effort

Education Requirements:
Minimum B.S. degree in Engineering or Applied Science

Minimum Requirements:
Familiarity with MS Project, GD&T, and CAD/CAM software
Experience with Matlab, MetroPro, MX is desired
Familiarity with Gauge R&R, MSA, and SPC
Strong understanding of quality tools: PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D, RCCA.
Working knowledge of optics manufacturing/metrology processes, tooling and equipment

Job Summary and Essential Job Duties:
The Optical Manufacturing Technician position is responsible for manufacturing precision optics and other optical components. Successful candidates undergo instruction and training to operate optics manufacturing and testing equipment such as multi-axis CNC machines, generating and polishing machines, applying knowledge of layout and tooling techniques and procedures, shop mathematics, and properties of optical and abrasive materials.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), optical manufacturing technicians will:
Read and interpret lens specifications from blue prints, drawings and work orders;
Set up and operate equipment, which may include: CNC and non-CNC generating equipment, grinding equipment, polishing equipment, centering equipment and inspection equipment to manufacture precision optics;
Mount work and tooling pieces on holding fixtures and machines, using adhesive, friction, or vacuum;
Select premixed compounds or mix grinding, polishing, and holding compounds according to formula;
Grind and polish optics to specifications;
Learn to operate Interferometers, coordinate measuring machines and other advanced testing equipment
Inspect in-process optics for conformance to specifications.

The Optical Component Inspector position provides critical support to the production team by performing in-process and final visual inspection of optical components used in highly challenging applications. Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, industry standards, inspection data, and customer data;

Measure and evaluate product to customer specification using various metrology equipment.

Operate beadblast equipment in accordance with prescribed method in order to remove surface contaminants and impart proper surface finish

Job Summary and Essential Job Duties:
The Optical Manufacturing Technician position is responsible for manufacturing precision optics and other optical components. Successful candidates undergo instruction and training to operate optics manufacturing and testing equipment such as multi-axis CNC machines, generating and polishing machines, applying knowledge of layout and tooling techniques and procedures, shop mathematics, and properties of optical and abrasive materials.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), optical manufacturing technicians will:
Read and interpret lens specifications from blue prints, drawings and work orders;
Set up and operate equipment, which may include: CNC and non-CNC generating equipment, grinding equipment, polishing equipment, centering equipment and inspection equipment to manufacture precision optics;
Mount work and tooling pieces on holding fixtures and machines, using adhesive, friction, or vacuum;
Select premixed compounds or mix grinding, polishing, and holding compounds according to formula;
Grind and polish optics to specifications;
Learn to operate Interferometers, coordinate measuring machines and other advanced testing equipment
Inspect in-process optics for conformance to specifications.
Advancement through the Optical Manufacturing Technician ranks is attained via increasing levels of education, experience, industrial skills, math skills, computing skills, responsibility and leadership potential and effectiveness.
Education Requirements:
A High School Diploma or GED required. Vocational training in manufacturing, carpentry, materials science, machining or similar strongly desired.
Minimum Requirements:
Familiarity with computers to include but not limited to Microsoft Office
Proficient shop math skills, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, fractions, ratios, decimal arithmetic and percentages
Ability to follow directions and attention to detail
Capable of understanding and interpreting blueprints or drawings for both mechanical and optical standards
Ability to work in a challenging, fast paced environment with good time management skills
Good mental dexterity and decision making
Excellent communication skills
Analytical troubleshooting / problem solving
Other Skills and Experience:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings.
Hand-eye coordination and/or manual dexterity similar to those skills utilized in artistic, creative or musical activities are desirable.
Ability to collect and interpret data
Strong Multi-tasking skills
Initiative and mental concentration to learn new skills and techniques
AAS or AS preferred. One or more years working in manufacturing is also desirable.

The job may involve prolong periods of sitting/standing.

Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
Work Environment:
This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level can vary from quiet to loud frequencies.
May involve the use of oils and solvents.
Generally works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
May require area specific safety training
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes
May be assigned to various production areas as needs require.

Set up and operate a variety of conventional and/or CNC machines to produce precision parts and/or instruments by applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal and glass properties, layout, and machining procedures. Verify product by inspection of precision parts to meet defined print specifications.
Through On the Job Training (OJT), the optical machinist will:

Mill - horizontal & vertical to .001” tolerance
CNC Multi-axis Machining Center to .001” tolerance
Precision grinding to .001um (.00005”) tolerance.
