IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR VISA SPONSORSHIP* What You'll Do: The Lead Associate Principal, Cyber Defense will help plan actions and lead security professionals in the analysis and determination of threats to the enterprise, vulnerabilities in the environment, and how our company will best defend itself against these threats. This position will require initiative to oversee security initiatives and be expected to put together projects and teams to remediate identified security threats, incidents, and compliance issues. In addition, the position will enhance the process around monitoring third-party security-related feeds, websites, forums, and mailing lists for information regarding cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits. The role will be heavily involved in the documenting, delivery, and testing of regulatory compliance to all required security regulation as well as the reporting of high-level details and metrics to Senior management.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform duties across several Cyber disciplines, activities may include:
Incident Management and Security Analysis:
* Lead cyber security incident responders in response activities including investigation, coordination, review, and reporting.
* Oversee technical analysis of security events while coordinating incident response activities with internal and external teams.
* Ensure and directly oversee the collection and preservation of data associated with cyber security incident response activities following industry best practices and established procedures.
* Develop and support briefings to OCC senior management as a trusted incident responder.
Security Monitoring & Analysis:
* Prioritize and identify security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications, and new technology initiatives.
* Lead systems management team to operationalize remediation efforts for gaps identified.
* Develop and implement security monitoring roadmaps for OCC technologies, applications, SaaS, and other cloud-hosted solutions. These roadmaps will direct efforts on implementation of monitoring use cases and measurement of monitoring capabilities.
* Manage, implement, and validate security monitoring use cases, mapping to frameworks, technical configuration for security tools, etc.
Security Device Administration
* Subject matter expert on security tools including appliances, hosted systems, and SaaS - including health checks, version updates, and content development.
* Validate content changes to security tools are appropriate from other analysts and teams.
* Report on and enhance current metrics surrounding security tool capabilities and efficacy.
* Subject matter expert in the systems lifecycle --- performing upgrades, implementation of new technologies, and enhancement identification.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Confer with and advise subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.
* Advise management selecting and scheduling employee training classes, conferences, and seminars.
Qualifications:

* Network sniffers and packet tracing tools (DSS, NAI SnifferPro, Ethereal and tcpdump).
* Proficient with Security preventative and detective technologies (EDR, network-based analysis, etc.)
* Encryption technologies (PGP, PKI and X.509)
* Directory services, LDAP, and their inherent security (Active Directory, CA Directory).
* Proxy and caching services.
* Client/server platforms including Sun Solaris, Windows, Linux.
* Operating system hardening procedures (Solaris, Linux, Windows, etc.)
* LAN/WAN routing and high availability (OSPF, BGP4/iBGP, EIGRP and NSRP).

Education and/or Experience:
* Minimum six years of information security experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
* Minimum three years hands-on security operations experience including interdisciplinary experience with four or more of the following: Cyber Threat Analysis, Digital Computer Forensics, Incident Response, Application Security, Operating Systems Security, Cryptographic Controls, Networking, Programming languages, Incident Response
* Minimum one year in a leadership role or team/project lead capacity.
* Technical experience and comprehensive knowledge of threat actor capabilities, intentions, methodologies, and motives.
* Familiarity with computer network exploitation and network attack methodologies while maintaining an understanding of the relationship these activities have with the financial services industry and critical infrastructure.
* Industry knowledge of leading-edge security technologies and methods
* Shift work and working in an on-call response capacity is required including availability for 24 x 7 on-call support responsibilities

This role will be responsible for executing audits and validations related to Financial Risk, focused on quantitative analysis and systems implementation. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will be aligned to three pillars:
Delivery
* Lead or execute quantitative reviews/audits/validations (conceptual soundness, documentation, data, methodology, development code, testing, and implementation for accuracy) of models or financial risk tools used for credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk and stress testing.
* Support financial risk management audits and validations as required.
* Effectively communicate complex technical quantitative analysis (based on data and models), principles, methods, and approach to relevant stakeholders.
* Perform audit activities including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, and complete work paper documentation in accordance with Internal Audit requirements (e.g. IIA GIA).
* Communicate identified findings and enhancements to audit management and key stakeholders.
* Draft audit reports clearly communicate overall conclusions, key risks, findings and their root cause, and impact on OCC's overall risk exposure.
* Perform continuous monitoring of model risk identifying patterns and trends to understand their impact on OCC's overall risk level and controls.
* Effectively challenge risk management (first and second lines of defense) to adopt appropriate policies, procedures, and effective controls designed to mitigate financial risk.
* Support the development or enhancement of audit procedures and templates for auditing financial risk management.

Projects and Responsibilities:
* Will assist in the model specification development and impact analysis.
* Work with Price Editing and Implied Volatility Surface Parameterization.
* Work with Clearing Fund and Stress Test (CFST) finding remediation and support multiple items in CFST finding remediation.
* Will get involved in BAU or / and R&D research projects such as supporting model annual validation, model performance monitoring, and parameter and assumption review.
Candidate Qualifications:
* Desired major(s): Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Economics
* Desired year in school (graduate school vs. undergrad, rising junior, senior, etc.): PhD or Master students in graduate school
* Technical experience desired:
* Financial mathematics (derivatives pricing models, stochastic calculus, statistics and probability theory, advanced linear algebra).
* Econometrics, data analysis and machine learning techniques. Risk management Models.
* Financial products knowledge: good understanding of markets and financial derivatives.
* Basic programing skills: able to read and/or write code using a programming language (e.g., Python) in a collaborative software development setting.
* Problem-solving skills: be able to identify a problem's possible source, conduct study and provide reasoning in estimating severity and impact.
* Experience in office technology such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
* Any additional qualifications: CFA, FRM are not required but preferred
What knowledge and skills will the intern gain from this internship?
* Gain knowledge and skills in development and maintenance of risk models for margin, clearing fund and stress testing. The intern will support on-going model development and maintenance projects by collaborating with other quantitative analysts, business users, data and technology staff, and model validation colleagues.

Compensation

The Corporate Strategy and Business Development department works cross-functionally to analyze, contextualize, and recommend strategic choices for the enterprise. The team is responsible for developing strategies and driving execution of key partnership opportunities.
The team works with key business leaders to allocate the firm's resources and to identify new opportunities for inorganic or organic growth based on internal needs, the external environment, and the firm's strategic positioning.
The department facilitates meetings of the Executive Committee of CME's Board of Directors multiple times per year and guides discussion of key strategic topics with CME Group's Management Team.
Finally, the team is responsible for facilitating internal stakeholder understanding of enterprise strategy, and for promoting deeper strategic understanding and alignment throughout the organization.
The Lead Analyst Corporate Strategy will be a core member of the Corporate Strategy and Business Development team and will support major initiatives focused on (1) enterprise direction and communication, (2) market structure, innovation and commercialization of new products or services, (3) business unit strategies and key business development efforts, and (4) broader ecosystem research and strategy. They will be expected to take initiative, work independently, support cross-functional teams, and produce high-quality work.
