This position is part-time for a minimum of two clinical days/week. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Evaluates patients' ocular health and visual capabilities to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment. Promotes and utilizes clinical technologies including: iLux, Oculus Keratograph 5M, Diopsys Vision Testing System, and Optos Optomap; additional technologies for complete dry eye treatment and myopia management programs will be invested in for the practice in the near future. Proficiently utilizes diagnostic instrumentation including: Humphrey VFA3, Auto-Refractor/Keratometer, iCare Tonometer, Cirrus OCT, Pachymeter, and IOL Master. Provides in-depth, understandable patient education as it relates to patient's presenting condition, diagnosis, and any recommended treatments. Prepares and maintains thorough, appropriate records relating to all professional services, recommendations, and/or treatments rendered. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position is largely sedentary, requiring 6-8 hour long periods of intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and sporadic movement throughout the clinic. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a clinic office environment. Contact with staff, patients and outside agencies. Possible exposure to communicable disease and medical preparations common to clinic environment. The salary for this position is $60 to $90/hour DOE.
