Essential Work Functions:
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing
Create personalized anesthesia plans tailored to each patient's needs and the specifics of their procedure
Administer various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, local, and monitored anesthesia care, using appropriate techniques and equipment
Manage and secure patient airways using a variety of devices, adapting techniques to suit the specific type of procedure and individual patient needs
Monitor and adjust anesthesia levels as necessary to maintain optimal sedation and pain control
Identify and address any adverse reactions or complications promptly
Respond to anesthesia-related emergencies, such as airway obstructions or cardiovascular instability
Oversee patient recovery from anesthesia, monitoring for any delayed reactions or complications
Educate patients and families on anesthesia procedures, postoperative care, and potential side effects of anesthesia
Maintain detailed records of anesthesia care, including medications administered and patient responses
Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and national standards for anesthesia practice
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

Pediatrix is thrilled to invite Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Hospitalists to join our dynamic, collaborative, and mission-driven team in the greater Seattle area. This role will provide you with the chance to work at prestigious facilities, such as Swedish Medical Center-First Hill and Swedish Issaquah, known for their high delivery volumes and modern amenities. Enjoy flexible 24-hour shifts while contributing to exceptional patient care, all in the scenic backdrop of the Pacific Northwest.
Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive OB/GYN hospitalist care at two major facilities, managing over 7,800 deliveries annually.
Support Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) and OB providers with labor and deliveries, surgical assists, and obstetric emergencies.
Manage obstetric triage and emergency situations, including ectopic pregnancies and torsions.
Perform routine GYN procedures, including diagnostic laparoscopy, supporting the Emergency Department.
Participate in academic activities, teaching OB fellows and residents from OB and family medicine programs.
Collaborate with a respected maternal-fetal medicine team in a collegial and supportive environment.
Work a flexible schedule of 6-8 24-hour shifts per month promoting a healthy work-life balance.

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring residency within the immediate local area.
Qualifications
Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in OB/GYN.
Valid Washington state medical license (or willingness to obtain).
OB Hospitalist work experience (preferred).
Clean malpractice and license history (highly preferred).
Ability to commute from the local area or willingness to relocate.
DEA license (must be obtained prior to start).
