Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
2. State licensure to practice optometry.
3. Five (5) years of clinical experience as an optometrist.

Degree: Doctor of Optometry. Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support (5.2.3):
Possess a certification to use Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents.
Education: Graduate from a school or college approved by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association.
Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
Possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the preceding three (3) years as an Optometrist. Experience must include post-operative refractive surgery to include familiarity with Excimer laser, photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and Laser-Assisted in situ Keratomileusis (LASIK), patient selection, and co-management of refractive surgery patients.
Provide two (2) letters of recommendation written within the last two (2) years attesting to the HCW's clinical skills. A minimum of one (1) of the letters must be from a supervisor. The other letter must be from either clinic or hospital administrators, or practicing physicians. Reference letters shall attest to the quality and quantity of experience including, but not limited to, the communication skills between practitioner and patient and among peers, and must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference

Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities as requested by the Government.

Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed. Participation shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting.
Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF.
Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.
Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth. Basic Life Support (BLS) and other trainings in support of professional licensure or credentials may not be obtained at the MTF by a HCW during working hours.
Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command, to include but not limited to online annual training provided by the MTF: disaster training, infection control, Sexual Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire and Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE), and all other required training.
Actively participate in the command's Performance Improvement Program. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.
Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Provide training and/or clinical direction as applicable to supporting government employees (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a doctorate in optometry (OD) with a Massachusetts therapeutics level optometry license, and be board certification in optometry.

These Nocturnist will provide obstetrical and gynecological care from 7pm - 7am, 7 days per week. Coverage will include L&D, ED (OBED) Admissions, and Gynecology consults. Tufts Medical Center is currently seeking a Neonatal Hospitalist to become a member of our Newborn Medicine Team. Tufts Medicine with Boston Children's is reimagining pediatric care to meet new and emerging community needs. In coming together, we have pushed the boundaries, expanded and improved access and equity through the creation of a shared and sustainable model of comprehensive pediatric care throughout the communities in Eastern Massachusetts. The core of this collaboration are our physicians that are part of the Boston Children's Network Specialty (BCNSP) Foundation and we will maintain our mutual commitment to research and education and training of the next generation of clinicians. This Neonatal Hospitalist role is primarily located at Tufts Medical Center, Boston.

Our Level IIIb NICU admits approximately 700 critically ill newborns annually from our MFM group as well as transports from five Level II community affiliates (approximately 9,000 deliveries and 1000+ admissions to our system annually). The NICU at Tufts is the perinatal referral center for the Tufts Neonatal Network, located in downtown Boston and with partnerships in the community. Our services begin with the earliest stages of life in our 40-bed Level IIIb Newborn Intensive Care Unit and continue with the follow-up of these infants through our robust comprehensive NICU Infant Neurodevelopmental Follow-up program.
How you'll transform patient care:
* You will provide clinical coverage, in the Mother Infant Unit at Tufts Medical Center, providing care to the healthy late preterm and term newborns receiving rooming-in care.
* You will mentor medical students and other trainees along with a superb group of Neonatal Advanced Practitioners.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $180,077 - $200,332 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
