To assess patient care needs and provides anesthetic care for surgical patients. To administer medically directed or supervised local, general, inhalation, regional, intravenous, monitored and other anesthetics for surgical, obstetrical therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. To consult preoperatively with patients regarding anesthetic needs, monitors patient's reaction to anesthesia and adjusts care accordingly.

Knowledge of agents, equipment, procedures and techniques for the provision of anesthesia for patients.
Responsibilities
Provides patient care by assessing, planning implementing and evaluating treatments and procedures.
Evaluates patients preoperatively to assess the physical status and anesthetic risks and prepares for anesthetic treatment.
Administers medically directed anesthetics during surgical obstetric, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Responds to critical patient care needs related to invasive monitoring, iv access, and airway management.
Conducts pre-and post - anesthesia evaluation including explanation of plan, obtaining informed consent, and follow-up on any post operative complication.
Educates, instructs, and mentors student nurse anesthetists, residents and other allied health professionals.
Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others upon request.
Reports case based quality and safety issues and develops and evaluates improvement measures to ensure safety and performance improvement.

The scope of services includes diagnosing, managing, and treating neurologic diseases in the inpatient setting only as a consultant with no primary patients or outpatient clinic responsibilities. 7 on 7 off block schedule with flexibility and dedicated hospitalists and nocturnists to cover nights.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical Degree from an ACGME accredited school

Responsibilities
Administrative Duties:
The CRNA must function as a collaborator and team member to accomplish applicable goals and functions of LifeLinc.
Develop standards for continuity of care and case management.
Remains cognizant of rules and regulation as they pertain to the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and remains compliant at a local, state, and federal level.
Clinical Duties:
The CRNA scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Performing and timely and accurately documenting a pre-anesthetic assessmentsand patient evaluations, including requesting consultations and diagnostic studies; selecting, obtaining, ordering, or administering pre-anesthetic medications and fluids; and obtaining informed consent for anesthesia.
The day-to-day responsibility of the CRNA for this position will be to provide professional anesthesia services to patients in accordance with the standard of care and state and federal laws and may include any of all of the following:
Managing a patient's airway.
Managing emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
Releasing or discharging patients from a post-anesthesia care area, and providing post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care related to anesthesia side effects or complications.
Responding to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids or drugs, or using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
Additional nurse anesthesia responsibilities which are within the expertise of the individual CRNA.
Communication:
Attends meetings as needed
Works with peers to obtain required information on a timely basis and to solve outstanding issues, as appropriate.
Promotes and contributes positively to the teamwork of the department by assisting coworkers, contributing ideas and problem-solving with co-workers.
Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to:
The Nurse Anesthetist shall be a Graduate of an approved school of nursing and a graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. The CRNA will have successfully completed the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Certification or its predecessor's.
