Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Role:

Carilion New River Valley Medical Center has 110 medical-surgical beds and 32 dedicated to inpatient psychiatry. The hospital campus also includes an office based opioid treatment clinic (OBOT) and multidisciplinary outpatient psychiatry clinic. There is a separate dedicated Emergency Psychiatry service throughout our system. Additional aligned services include Interventional Psychiatry, Brain Injury Medicine, Geriatric Psychiatry.
Our Consultation-Liaison service spans all seven of the Carilion hospitals, including rural and critical access hospitals by leveraging telemedicine. Our team is supported by dedicated mental health care coordinators and a 24/7 call center.
The qualified candidate will be fellowship-trained in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, or have completed training in Internal Medicine-Psychiatry, or Family Practice-Psychiatry, or similar. Two or more years of substantial experience in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is also acceptable.

Integrated Interventions is a premier transitional living program for youth aged 17 and older. Our program is nationally recognized as a new spin on the traditional “treat them until they are 18 and then wish them luck” process with campuses in Idaho and Texas. Our staff work diligently to help students learn the life skills required to be sustainably independent. Students leaving our program go on to live happy, healthy, and productive lives. We are the last step on the therapeutic journey that many of our students have been on for many years.
We are currently looking to add a Program Psychiatrist to our team of exceptional individuals! This is a contracted position with Integrated Interventions for psychiatric services amongst a growing population of young adults.
The Psychiatrist's job responsibilities will be limited by his/her license. The psychiatrist will provide anywhere from 20-30 hours per week of telepsychiatry services. Qualifications
Completion of a 4-year Residency Program in Psychiatry
Dual licensure is Idaho and Texas
Licensed to write Schedule 2 prescriptions in both states

Live in the U.S. or a U.S. territory

Job Summary:
The Psychiatrist Physician Reviewer will provide principal leadership and clinical expertise to operations relating to the peer review process, utilization review activities, and other activities requiring clinical leadership and consultation. They will conduct phone consultations with various Illinois hospitals to establish medical necessity and continued stay criteria for IL Medicaid Fee-For-Service beneficiaries.
*Position is PRN and remote within the state of Illinois.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct peer-to-peer physician consultations as requested/required and document consultations
Provide clinical expertise with respect to planning and establishing goals and policies to improve clinical operations
Represent the organization through state appeal processes
Review medical information trends, experiences, and approaches and assist in the development of strategic plans for clinical improvements
Provide program representation at stakeholder engagement meetings
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
Analyze and remain current on national, state, and local regulations and legislation which impact the healthcare profession
Represent and promote Acentra Health at seminars, professional societies, medical staff meetings, and other professional settings as appropriate

Knowledge of Medicaid programs with relevant experience navigating similar complex projects
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook

Comfort remotely supervising nurse practitioners, conducting chart reviews, and answering questions at monthly meetings
Comfort signing off on prescriptions, including controlled substances, per state and federal regulations, and Legion Health's rigorous clinical protocols
Availability by phone during PMHNPs' working hours and at the end of their shift to review medications, as required by state medical board rules
