The ideal candidate will have experience in both acute and chronic TBI management, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care. This role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, interpreting neurodiagnostic studies, and guiding treatment plans for patients with complex neurologic presentations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive neurologic evaluations for patients with suspected or confirmed TBI and post-concussive symptoms.
Interpret neurodiagnostic tests, including EEG, qEEG, VNG, balance assessments, imaging, and other concussion-focused modalities.
Develop individualized treatment plans addressing cognitive, vestibular, psychological, and functional symptoms related to head injury.
Collaborate with rehabilitation specialists, primary care providers, neuropsychologists, physical therapists, and case managers to coordinate continuity of care.
Provide medical oversight and clinical guidance to technicians and support staff performing diagnostic procedures.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Stay current with emerging research, standards of care, and best practices in TBI and concussion management.
Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and professional education initiatives as needed.
Qualifications

The scope of services includes diagnosing, managing, and treating neurologic diseases in the inpatient setting only as a consultant with no primary patients or outpatient clinic responsibilities. 7 on 7 off block schedule with flexibility and dedicated hospitalists and nocturnists to cover nights.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical Degree from an ACGME accredited school
Must be licensed by the Louisiana State board of Medical Examiners
Board Certification or Eligible for Board Certification
Epic experience a plus

Provide regional anesthesia under a delegating physician to include: topical, infiltration, spinal, epidural, intravenous, upper, and lower body blocks, and other peripheral blocks
Initiate orders and transcribe orders of collaborating physician
Intravenous catheter placement and administration of fluids, blood and/or blood products, muscle relaxants, vasoactive and cardiac drugs
Other responsibilities include mechanical ventilation, resuscitation techniques, cardiopulmonary bypass technique, auto transfusion, hypotensive and hypertensive care, and hypothermia
