The Optometrist is responsible for examining the eyes and other parts of the visual system. They also diagnose and treat visual problems and manage diseases, injuries, and other disorders of the eyes. They conduct eye examinations, prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed. The Optometrist ensures that the primary goal of efficiently providing vision care services that exceed customer expectations is achieved, while improving clinical and financial operations.

Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policies.
Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices).
Stay current with changes in the healthcare environment and act accordingly in the best interest of the Company.

Requirements
REQUIRED:
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and active California license in good standing.
Minimum 2 years' work experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects.
Hands-on experience with eye examination tools, such as ophthalmoscope and tonometer.
The ability to explain medical terms simply and calmly.
Desirable
Glaucoma Certification a plus.

Attention all Optometrists we are calling on you to work with us providing refractions and eyeglass fittings and treatment to our Military Service members.
We will primarily work weekends, with some occasional weekdays in the State of California on an "as needed basis".
We provide health readiness services to meet the medical requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the following:
U.S. Army Reserve (USAR)
Army National Guard (ARNG)
U.S. Navy Reserve (USNR)
U.S. Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES)
U.S. Coast Guard Reserve (USCGR)
Air National Guard (ANG)
U.S. Air Force Reserve (USAFR)
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include performing refractions and eyeglass fittings with equipment provided by DOCS Health.
Requirements:
Active and unrestricted license/certification in the state
Available for weekends and occasional weekdays
Passionate, friendly, and caring
Must have weekend availability

Team of 15+ providers across five locations
Growing Practice - adding 2 locations in 2026

ASC with 3 operating rooms, supporting high-volume surgical cases
Skills
Completion of ophthalmology residency and retina fellowship
Board Certified or Board Eligible
Strong clinical and surgical retina skills
Desire to grow a successful retina practice within a collaborative group
