    ST. CLAIR COUNTY COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH PSYCHIATRIST (Full or Part-Time, on-site position available, Competitive Benefit Package) Job Description A Psychiatrist is responsible for providing specific psychiatric/physician related activities within the outpatient setting. There is direct work with adults/children receiving services along with professional consultative, supervisor and administrative duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Psychiatric Evaluations Medication Reviews Review labs, case documents, health care plans, and behavior plans Provide physician supervision of clinical services as defined in the Medicaid Manual (MSA Bulletin), Chapter III Collaborate with CMH staff and the interdisciplinary team Collaborate with PCP and other specialized medical services Consult with CMH administration on programmatic decisions Be available to testify in court proceedings as needed MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited university Psychiatry Residency Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or possession of Board eligibility status Licensure Current licensure to practice medicine in the State of Michigan Current DEA licensure Experience/Skills Demonstrated ability to work with an electronic record system and e-prescribe program Child/Adolescent Experience and willingness to work with this population Commitment to ethical standards in working with staff, consumers, and members of the community Knowledge of the applicable provisions of the Mental Health Code of Michigan Experience providing psychiatric evaluations, medication evaluations, and medication monitoring in an outpatient setting and experience providing emergency psychiatric care Other Provide psychiatric services according to the schedule established by the Agency PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience/Skills Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Experience/Interest in Substance Use Disorder Treatment Demonstrated ability to utilize DSM V Knowledge of mental health treatment procedures applicable to public mental health populations Knowledge of evidence based treatment related to mental health treatment including prescribing of medication
