Utilize telephonic interpreter translation services to complete assigned duties if not fluent in a language the patient understands.

Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish (preferred, not required).

Qualifications Basic Requirements/Certifications: Must have and maintain an unrestricted and current license as a psychiatrist issued by the state licensing authority in the state where services are performed.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
If not American Heart Association (AHA) certified, must be within first year.
Minimum of one-year experience as a licensed practicing psychiatrist.
Experience in a detention/correctional or residential healthcare setting (preferred, not required) All Employees shall have at least one year of general experience that demonstrates the following:The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public.

Ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress, such as fires, explosions, civil disturbances, and building evacuations.
Education Required:Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from a school in the United States ORDoctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States as established by:The National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA) AND Permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
Completion of four years of medical specialty training leading to board eligibility in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.
(ABPN).
