The ideal candidate will be residency trained in primary care or ocular disease or have commensurate experience. The position provides an opportunity to work alongside both optometrists and ophthalmologists managing a large array of primary care, surgical, and complex disease cases. The applicant will be comfortable and experienced in diagnosing, treating and monitoring glaucoma and diabetes related eye disease as well as unusual and complicated visual conditions. Our ophthalmologists provide surgical interventions such as cataract surgery/ MIGS/IVI/retinal laser surgery, etc. The applicant will be experienced in both referring for these services and providing post-operative and continuing care. We also treat urgent care patients throughout the week from our multiple walk- in clinics and hospital based emergency department. This positon includes one week of on call coverage per month. WHO: Must be BC/BE Psychiatric Physician who holds an active/clear license in the state where they reside. Consults can only be conducted in the MD's state of residence. STATE (License-must reside in state): Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota WHAT: Perform telemedicine videoconferencing via a secure platform that does not exceed one (1) hour per applicant to re-evaluate for psychiatric disorders, alcohol/substance abuse, self-mutilation/harm, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, legal event (underage drinking tickets, vandalism, assault, theft). These are simple, one-time, psychiatric evaluations, with 20-30 minutes videoconferencing, face to face time, and 10-20 minutes for writing up findings that cannot exceed one hour per consultation. Diagnose, treat and manage vision and eye health conditions. In addition to prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, be knowledgeable in treatment options using pharmaceuticals, low vision, vision therapy, and surgical procedures. Look to specialize in an area of professional interest, such as vision therapy or low vision rehab. Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgeryfor example, examining a patient one day postoperatively. Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer patients to other healthcare providers as appropriate.
