The ESL Program seeks instructors trained in teaching ESL or second language learning to the diverse population that is growing for our Spring 2026 session. Classes begin January 20, 2026. This is a part-time evening position requiring four evenings per week from 6-9pm.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in ESL or Second Language Teaching or related field. Minimum of three years experience teaching adults in an educational setting. Knowledge of assessment techniques to determine reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Knowledge of material used to teach grammar. Excellent classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in ESOL. Certification in ESL. TESOL certification. Extensive experience teaching multiple ESL levels.

DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position would be expected to perform the following functions depending upon unit needs: collecting, confirming and transcribing data from a variety of sources; entering information into a terminal and extracting this information in a variety of formats; answering inquiries from the public regarding eligibility and the provision of services; maintaining manual and automated logs and records; overseeing a centralized function such as mail distribution, fleet management or inventory. This position differs from the position of Office Assistant in that the Program Assistant position involves duties with focus on procedures and guidelines and is primarily functioning as a direct part of a program or service. The position of Office Assistant provides more clerical related duties including keyboarding, reception, scheduling, filing and other related activities for an individual or group of individuals to support the services they are providing. Initially, employees' work will be directly reviewed and supervised to be sure the employee is learning and applying rules and procedures of the office. As job familiarity increases, the employee will have leeway for completing work assignments independently under the prescribed procedures. This position does not supervise other employees but may direct the work of aides, interns, temporary employees and other lower level employees.

The SUNY Delhi Aquatic Center is seeking lifeguards for the Kunsela Hall Pool. The Kunsela Hall Pool is open to the college and surrounding community. We provide a welcoming, fun, and safe multipurpose space that services individuals from infancy through adulthood, in water safety and recreation to contribute to the quality of their lives.
General Lifeguard Duties:
* Patron surveillance and preventing the injuries before they occur.
* Supervising swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensure that all policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
* Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
* Responsible for opening and closing the aquatics facility.
* Inspect pool facilities, equipment and water to ensure that they are safe and usable, to include monitoring pool chemistry and charting.
* Provides general upkeep and maintenance of the pool, locker rooms and First Aid room via specific cleaning schedules.

Head Lifeguard Duties:

Job Description:
* Assist with the management of all aspects of the occupancy and room assignment process for new and returning students during the academic year including move in/out, break housing, room condition reports/facilities, summer occupancy, living learning communities' applications, academic dismissals, housing license and housing policy guide, housing accommodations, assignments, applications, and billing.
* Assist in the overall management and supervisory responsibility for Russell Hall. This includes programming series development, supervision of RA staff, occupancy management, building maintenance, advising hall council, and enforcing community norms and standards.
* Aid in the management, operations, and upkeep of database systems and software that are used by the department including access control (CBORD CS Gold/Access), housing database (Housing Cloud, CBORD ResCenter/HMS), Banner, BroncoCONNECT, and D2L student learning platform.
* Assist in the project management and follow up on facilities and technology projects in the residence halls including internet, fire safety, work orders, room condition reports, damage billing, and student storage.
* Assist in the implementation, execution, troubleshooting, and future planning for access control systems campus wide.
* Assist the Director of Residence Life with the daily supervision of Residence Hall Directors (RD), including individual meetings, tracking and recording progress on special projects and committee work, renewal and evaluation process, and follow-up on major issues occurring in each residence hall area.
* Coordination of planning and carrying out arrangements for summer camps and conferences in collaboration with other campus stakeholders.
* Participate in the active planning and implementation of departmental assessment
* Serve as an on-campus resource for the professional staff member on Duty, particularly in dealing with emergencies and serious incidents
* Update department marketing and communication efforts including web page, social media, print publications and digital signage related to occupancy, services, and living learning communities
