Salary Schedule
Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to maximize automotive vehicle, school bus, and automotive equipment operation through efficient repair and maintenance practices to extend the service life of each item. Employees in this classification perform intermediate to advanced mechanical repairs and rebuilds for both diesel and gasoline powered automotive vehicles and equipment, and are responsible for inspecting tasks upon completion for adherence to technical specifications and principles of safe vehicle operation. Employees in this classification may occasionally mentor/train new or less experienced technicians. Performs related work as directed.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
Responds to road emergencies in the event of breakdown; performs on site diagnosis and troubleshooting to identify source of the failure.
Utilizes computerized/electronic devices to analyze and diagnose methods in identifying service, replacement and vehicle/bus/equipment repair needs. This includes analyzing electronically controlled engines, electrical systems, transmissions and brakes.
Utilizes both PCs and hand held electronic devices.
Performs service and repair on various automotive components and devices, i.e., mufflers, water hoses, starters, brakes, tires, points, plugs, radiators, cylinders, rotors, horns, wheelchair lifts, on an as needed basis.
Overhauls and services assemblies and accessories, such as rear axles, hydraulic systems, anti-lock braking systems, differentials, suspension and steering systems, universal joints, engine heads, and drive shafts.
Diagnoses, repairs, and/or replaces electrical/electronic lighting systems, control systems, cooling systems, transmissions, starting and charging systems.
Repairs light, medium and heavy duty trucks.
Performs advanced repairs on school buses and support vehicles.
Repairs all construction-type equipment.
Repairs all agricultural type equipment.
Mentors and trains new or less experienced technicians, as needed.
Acts as fill-in shift leader, as needed.
Road tests vehicles to ascertain repair effectiveness; performs final inspection upon completion of service/repair prior to release.
Performs preventive maintenance according to assigned schedules as needed, i.e., changing oil, tires, transmission fluid, tune ups, filter and belt replacement, on an as needed basis.
Inspects, adjusts and replaces valves, pistons, belts, tires, bushings, calipers, drums, bearings, fuel, alternators, clutches, carburetors, ignition and exhaust systems.
Utilizes various standard automotive mechanics tools and specialized diagnostic and testing equipment, i.e., torque meters, lathes, voltage meters, hydraulic jacks, air guns, grinders.
Maintains work order records concerning diagnosis, repair/service performed, and parts and supplies used. No more than 5% returned/incomplete rate on vehicle repairs.
Must be able to attain/maintain at least 70% productivity rate (as determined by work orders) and no more than 15% above individual repair times (as determined by industry standard labor time guides).
Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
Replace water pump, radiator, high pressure pump, air compressor, engine sensors, light bulbs, turbo charger, power steering pump, transmissions, exhaust system , brake/brake drums, starter, tires, ABS components, steering and suspension components, and drive line components.
Road test vehicles.
Responsible for timely and accurate information they maintain as part of their job responsibilities.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years intermediate to advanced progressively skilled automotive repair experience, the majority of which shall be in service and repair of diesel and gasoline powered automotive vehicles and equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a valid CDL class “B” license, with passenger and student endorsements, or must obtain within six (6) months of hiring date and maintain throughout tenure in position. Must obtain within twelve (12) months of hiring date a valid School Bus Inspector certificate and maintain throughout tenure in position.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to overhaul, restore, renovate, construct, and/or rebuild equipment, machinery, or objects, requiring adherence to prescribed standards and specifications.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, design, and advisory data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; calculate decimals and percentages.
Functional Reasoning: Requires ability to apply principles of rational systems. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. Ability to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.
ADA COMPLIANCE
Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert very heavy physical effort in very heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials (up to 100 pounds) and occasionally heavier items (100 pounds or over).

THE ROLE
The Facility Technician is a part-time, event-based position responsible for facility maintenance, general cleaning, and the setup and breakdown of event spaces at the Charles F. Dodge City Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES QUALIFICATIONS
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, and general equipment systems.
Install, repair, and replace facility systems and components as needed.
Monitor and operate building systems, including the energy management system.
Conduct general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, plastering, landscaping, pavement repair, and cleaning.
Maintain maintenance logs and inventory; requisition supplies as needed.
Monitor building conditions and promptly report issues.
Assist vendors and contractors in service delivery and ensure compliance with building protocols.
Oversee event subcontractors to ensure safe interaction with facility systems.
Provide technical support for event planning and implementation, including event setup and breakdown.
Operate equipment such as forklifts, lifts, and hand/power tools as needed.
Assist other departments to support efficient facility operations.
Follow all established safety protocols and codes of conduct.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Provide desktop support on all four campuses.
* Install and configure personal computer hardware and peripheral equipment, including but not limited to monitors, keyboards, and CD/DVD drives; printers; laptops and other mobile devices.
* Perform routine maintenance and repair on computers and peripheral equipment, laptops, mobile devices, printers; network cabling and connected networked devices.
* Setup and deploy mobile devices, such as iPads, Android and Windows tablets and laptops.
* Troubleshoot and repair computers, printers, and other peripherals located in staff, faculty and student-use areas.
* Troubleshoot and assist with repairing network-connected, device-related issues, such as LAN and wireless connectivity and equipment connectivity (computers, printers, telephones).
* Install and configure computer software, including but not limited to, operating systems and applications such as Windows, Mac OS, and MS Office suite; various email applications and anti-virus software; third-party applications used in teaching and administrative environments.
* Coordinates/escalates technology issues with the OIT Help Desk, Network Services, and other OIT departments.
* Trains users including students, staff, and faculty, on the proper use of hardware and software.
* Creates and maintains good customer service relationships with students, faculty and staff.
* Assists faculty and staff in the utilization of AV equipment.
* Assists with troubleshooting, making minor repairs and maintaining AV equipment used in classrooms and event rooms; arranges for repairs and maintenance as necessary.
* Sets-up equipment such as microphones and auxiliary computer devices in special event locations such as the Camden Technology Center theater and banquet event rooms as well as other classrooms as needed.
* Provide occassional IT/AV support at evening and weekend high-profile events and meetings.
* Help maintain inventory control for all computers and computer-related equipment on all College campuses.
* Provides technical support as needed for community, outside client, and county activities.
* Respond to calls for support on other shifts and weekend emergency requests.
* Maintains all job-related documentation, including tickets, inventory forms, request forms, and SOP documents.
* Practice good communication skills with OIT department teams and other departments, faculty and students as needed to provide good customer service.
* Practice good follow up procedures on assigned projects, tasks and difficult or high-profile situations.
* All other duties as required of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
* Associates degree plus 2-3 years of work experience in installing and maintaining desktop computer systems, laptops and mobile devices; or current A+ Certification or higher certification, plus 1-2 years of work experience.
* Experience working with and troubleshooting computer equipment issues in a networked environment; some experience with troubleshooting network issues.
* Experience with using various software deployment methods including deployment tools, scripts and batch files.
* Experience with video and sound equipment including projectors and racked AV equipment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and on independent projects.
* Ability to use creative and out-of-the box thinking as well as standard industry methods for providing technical support.

Special Instructions for Applicants

The Service Tech Lead Level 3 supports students, faculty, and staff across a PK-12 learning environment. This role is responsible for advanced technical troubleshooting, systems administration, infrastructure support, escalation management and team mentoring. The engineer will work closely with the IT Director to maintain a stable, secure, and user-friendly technology landscape. Must be agile and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Level 3 technical support for Windows, mac OS, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android devices.
Lead the full help desk workflow and incident lifecycle. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
Google Workspace for Education and Microsoft O365.
Network connectivity (wired and wireless)
Managed Print services, projectors, VoIP phones, A/V equipment, Smartboards and classroom technology.
User accounts, permissions, and group policies administration.
Server and virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V, WIN2019 - 2025 server)
Manage and monitor ticketing queues; ensure timely resolution and escalation.
Install, configure, and maintain endpoint devices, applications, and system updates.
Assist with administration of:
Active Directory and identity management
DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall rules
Backup systems and disaster recovery operations
Security tools such as RMM/EDR, MDM, and content filtering
Support school technology initiatives, assessments, and classroom technology integrations.
Maintain documentation for procedures, inventory, and configuration standards.
Serve as the primary escalation point and provide technical guidance and mentoring to L1 and L2 staff and serve as an escalation point.
Lead the training and upskilling of Level 1 technicians and staff
Lead root cause analysis and implement long-term preventive solutions
Drive continuous systems and process improvement
Run weekly ticket reviews, analyze trends, and prevent recurring issues
Proactively monitor systems to identify and resolve issues before impact
Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or designee
Qualifications
Five plus years of professional IT client service support or systems administration experience.
Strong knowledge of:
Windows Server (2019/2022/2025)
Active Directory, Group Policy, and authentication protocols
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi)
Google Workspace Admin Console, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, Microsoft Entra.
Virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)
Experience supporting mixed device environments (Windows, Mac, Chromebooks).
Familiarity with RMM/MDM systems such as Datto, Mosyle, or similar.
Understanding of basic security frameworks, EDR, MDR.
Ability to support classroom A/V systems and instructional technology.
Experience with supporting / setting up events and meeting technology, video, Live streaming, audio.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, especially in an educational setting.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
Strong project management capabilities
Ability to support A/V, microphones, live streams, and hybrid events
Ability to manage backup systems and continuity during failures
Availability for occasional after-hours and weekend school events
Experience with asset lifecycle management

Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash).
Relevant certifications (ITIL4, CompTIA Network+/Security+, Google Workspace Administrator, Microsoft, VMware, etc.).
Work Environment
In-person role, on site, no hybrid accommodations, supporting classroom, office, and campus wide technology.
Ability to work after-hours including weekends in support of school events, maintenance windows, upgrades, and emergencies.
Ability to lift/move equipment (up to ~40 lbs)

Job Purpose:
The function of the Technician I is to execute and perform work in the field according to strict methods and procedures as directed by the Project Manager, Superintendent and/or Technician II. This individual would be responsible for performing their job duties and work as a team member to successfully complete projects that involve the inspection, coating, cleaning, repair, and modification of prestressed composite tanks as well as other concrete structures.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
A basic understanding of and ability to use tools, materials, and equipment involved in the repair and coating of concrete structures.
Ability to read and understand product technical data and use the material in its proper application.
Ability to understand most standard repair and coating techniques and to determine the proper equipment and materials necessary to perform the work.
Performing repairs, cleanings, coatings, and modifications of prestressed composite tanks as well as other concrete structures and/or accessories.
Understand and follow the directions of senior personnel during the work process.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum requirement of 90 days of field work with CCR, 1 year of field work with CROM, or 1 year of satisfactory experience in the water/wastewater, infrastructure repair, and/or coatings industry.
Must pass a background check, drug screening and Respiratory and Fit Test
Successful completion of all Technician I required Safety Training
Successful completion of Level 1 required testing of the CCR Field Advancement Program
Must be able to work at different heights off the ground
Must be team player and able to work well with a diverse group of personnel
Other requirements:
Basic understanding of typical construction materials and methods
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
Working Conditions:
The position requires the individual to be in the office as well as in the field. Travel is required to go to the job sites and overnight stays away from home will be necessary. While on site, the ability to move around a construction site is needed which will require climbing and working off the ground. Training in the use of different types of personal protective equipment, including fall protection and respirators, will be required. Typical construction site conditions are expected to include loud noises as well as dust and the odors of construction materials being utilized.
