Compensation for the role is $23.66-29.84/hr
Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member's compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent preparation and/or experience required.
Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and staff both orally and in writing.
Minimum Experience:
2 Years Medical Assistant experience or graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program required. Completion of phlebotomy course;
With at least 120 clinical hours of clinical rotation in a medical arena OR
75 hours of clinical rotation in a medical arena with (1) year healthcare experience required OR
Five (5) years of continuous phlebotomy experience with the National Phlebotomy Certification required.
EKG experience required.
Required Certification/Registration: National Phlebotomy Certification required; Completion of AHA-BLS Healthcare Provider Course-Current and on-going required. CNA certificate preferred
Physical Requirements: Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patient. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Visual acuity and color discrimination is required. Ability to communicate effectively and to comprehend conversation. Must have manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination. Must anticipate unexpected movements by patients. Capable of working assigned hours at varied times during the day or night. Alertness required during all phases of work.

Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well- lighted, heated or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.
Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 20 lbs.

*Per Diem Surgical Scheduling Coordinator- Putnam OB/Gyn Carmel, NY* Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm & Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm *(as needed)*Summary: Medical Assistant/ Secretary will receive training in Trans Magnetic Stimulation and obtain initial certification and annual recertification in the administration of recurring TMS treatment.
Provides clerical and secretarial support to assure smooth daily department operations. Assures that the patient and examination area is properly prepared.
Responsibilities:
1. Greets and brings patient back from waiting room to clinical area. Obtains vital signs as required.
2. Registers, updates patient information and bills physician charges to patients' accounts. Verifies demographic and insurance information.
3. Provides clerical and secretarial work associated with patient care to include copying and dictation. Prepares, files and organizes patient charts.
4. Schedules appointments as ordered for patients in the office, for testing, or other physicians.
5. Assures the examination area is clean and stocked.
6. Assures the patient is properly prepared for the scheduled visit to maintain timely patient flow.
7. Conducts in-office testing as directed by the physician. Coordinates testing and outside ancillary services as applicable.
8. Collects, prepares and processes specimens as directed by the physician.
9. Maintains inventory and ensures proper upkeep, cleaning and testing of medical equipment and supplies. Fills out appropriate logs.
10. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Information:
Maintain Annual BLS Certification
Required: Data entry required. One year medical assistant/secretary experience, or graduate of accredited Medical Assistant training program. Basic medical knowledge and terminology. Skill in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.
Minimum Experience: one year
Desired: Graduate of Medical Assistant training program. Ability to schedule patients and knowledge of telephone switchboard. CPR, CNA, MA or EMT certification.

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
The range for the role is $20.66-$21.28 hourly.
The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma required, A.A.S. in Medical Technology preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Experience as a Nursing Assistant, Pt. Care Technician required.
Knowledge of distribution systems relating to the movement of material and people preferred.
Secretarial and/or clerical (office) experience preferred.
Hospital background preferred.
EPIC Clin Doc/ASAP certification E.H.R. experience preferred.
Required Certification/Registration:
Participation in and successful completion of a classroom-based/Staff Development guided training program.
Participation in and satisfactory completion of a floor-based “hands-on” orientation/training program with a preceptor before completion of probationary period.
Successful completion of BLS Provider Course and EKG training/competency prior to being released from unit orientation, must maintain BLS certification and EKG competency throughout duration of employment.
Completion of hospital Crisis Prevention (PMCS) training course within 3 months of hire, and renewal as per facility guidelines.
Physical Requirements: Position will primarily be light to medium work requiring lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching are required. Requires 20% sitting and 80% standing or walking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word is required.
Working Conditions:
Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.
Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
