The Order Entry Representative (OER) will be responsible for all aspects of the order-processing function. They will daily acknowledge customer purchase orders, enter new orders; reconcile open orders, release orders for shipment, provide orders acknowledge, etc. The OER will also provide ongoing communication to the customer as to the accurate status of the customer`s orders in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:



Answer inbound calls and emails, and make outbound calls as appropriate Process customer order by following order-processing procedure Communicate and coordinate with internal teams to ensure the timeliness of orders Performs inquiries such as: inventory availability and lead-time, freight charges, shipment tracking numbers, production cycles by component, etc. Works very closely with other team members keeping them abreast of any current or potential issue(s). Pays attention to accuracy, communication, timeliness, and responsiveness.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:



High School graduate or equivalent; some college a plus



SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

**Customer Order Entry/Customer Service**

**Location: Sterling Heights, MI**

**Pay: $25/hour**

**Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm**

**Temporary-to-hire**

**Position Overview:**

The main function of this position is to take incoming customer purchase orders and convert them into sales orders within our Quick Books accounting/inventory software. Incoming orders typically arrive via email within the customers' own ordering documentation. This data is manually transferred into QB (Quick Books). The sales order is then transferred to our warehouse to pick, pull, build and ultimately ship. The shipping documentation (packing slip) is then returned to the order entry clerk to process the shipping label (typically UPS). Finally, the order entry clerk will process the packing slip into an invoice to complete the transaction.

**Skill set needed:**

+ **Detail orientated-** Incoming orders come to us in various formats which means you must locate the pertinent information

+ **Highly organized** - Must be able to handle multiple orders at different stages over the same time period. Able to prioritize- place orders in proper que based upon customer delivery demands

+ **Time management-** Plan your day to be able to finish orders that were started.

+ **Communication verbal and written-** Incoming purchase orders must be responded to via email and/or email to advise the customer as to a delivery date and other pertinent information.

+ **Data Entry-** ability to enter information into Quick Books- information includes addresses, names, phone numbers, part numbers, descriptions

+ **Team Player-** Everyone works in tandem. Communication between the sales team, order entry, warehouse, and accounting departments must be open and on-going throughout the day.
