Job Description
The Role
Night shift order selector picks orders according to pick ticket with particular attention being given to speed, quality and safety.
Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To
Pull orders, stage and build pallets, shrink wrap and load onto the trucks for delivery. Must have sensory capabilities to avoid accidents as warehouse environment involves fast moving forklifts and power jack equipment.
Pick orders within acceptable guidelines for errors
Place orders on pallets with special consideration given to maximizing product care, taking into account wet vs. dry goods and proper stacking to ensure safe transport and delivery to customer.
Load trucks as determined by delivery schedule
Pick short sheets
Complete necessary paperwork by recording amounts of items picked
Maintain warehouse and equipment in clean and orderly condition
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
High school education or 6 months or more of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (non-weather).
Frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Regularly lift and/or moves up to 25 pounds; frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds; occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds.
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to read/write/record data and perform simple mathematical calculations as well as simple correspondence in English
Must follow instructions, respond to management direction.
Reliable; consistently at work and on time.
Observes and follows proper safety procedures; willingness to report potentially unsafe conditions.

Role Description
Traveling Stockers work in various departments and areas within the stores at local and remote locations for days to weeks at a time. This role includes working in a home store within the state of Alaska when not traveling. You will also be required to travel between Alaska Three Bears locations on short notice. Must have reliable transportation. Mileage is covered for travel to and from locations. Meals are typically covered and/or reimbursed when working at store other than home stores and depending on travel destination and job.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be based in the State of Alaska and able to work in a local Three Bears Alaska Store.
Must be available to travel between Three Bears Alaska locations on short notice.
Spots for Forklift Drivers to ensure safe retrieval of merchandise and keep people out of fall-danger zone.
Follows merchandising standards and practices.
Aligns product, collects and returns stray items, stocks to maintain high product levels.
Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities.
Writes list of products to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stocking.
Uses box knife to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product and to cut twine or shrink-wrap from pallet.
Wraps or ties and tags pallets to be returned to steel.
Stocks opened cases on shelves.
Moves and positions pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack.
Stacks product from partial pallets onto full pallets.
Marks product number on unmarked items using marking gun.
Observes and ensures correct product signage.
Set up display models, assembling as necessary.
Modifies displays for safe handling by customers, e.g., bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges.
Follows all safety and security procedures.
Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor.
Operates cardboard baler and trash compactor.
Rewraps loose product using shrink-wrap.
Provides prompt and courteous customer service.
Helps customers to load large items into their cart, directs customers to products, and relates products knowledge.
Assists customers in getting product to their vehicle and loading product into vehicle.
Retrieves shopping carts from the parking lot and returns them to their staging area.
Load and unload freight trucks using forklift and or pallet jack, staging product pallets in assigned areas.
Fills propane tanks for customers.
Ensures all current safety guidelines are followed when conducting propane operations.
Assists with front end duties as necessary.
Assists in other departments of the store as necessary.
Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.
Operate manual pallet jack, wheeled carts, trash compactor, cardboard baler, product marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife.
Occasionally operate cash register, handheld scanners, computer, fax machine, phone, printer.
Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.
Experience/Education:
A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
