Order packer job description

The Sales Order Packer will be part of the energetic and dedicated Shipping & Receiving team at Rice Lake Weighing Systems. This fast-paced, active role takes place in our modern warehouse. You will help get customer orders ready for delivery by picking and packing orders accurately and in a timely fashion according to a paper pick list. T his position may be eligible for our new $100/week incentive based on performance and hours worked!

Duties & Responsibilities

Some of your duties may include:

• Pick correct parts and quantities
• Package orders using commercial packaging to eliminate damage to products
• Use technology like scanners, computers and computerized shipping systems
• Sort packaged freight
• Keep an organized, clean and safe work area

You'll also need to be able to:

• Continuously stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend and reach during shifts
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Use carts, pallet jacks, reach trucks and other lift equipment to retrieve and move items

• Temperature: The warehouse is climate controlled, but temperatures in some areas of the facility may vary depending on the season.
• Noise level: It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.
• Dress code: Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Comfortable, composite or steel-toe shoes are required. RLWS reimburses 50% for safety shoes once per year.
