What will I do?
Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space.
Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Layer Picking (Forklift Operator):**
* Follow warehouse management system directed tasking to transport pallets of product safely between staging areas (docks, layer picking areas and storage areas) following established PWMs.
* Pull / Put away product using material handling equipment (MHE), primarily a reach forklift.
* Inspect product being moved for shortages, damage, quality, or deterioration of packing and report to supervisor.
* Ensure pallets are secured with shrink wrap for effective delivery to a door or staging area and to rack storage (for puts).
* Use SWMS (Sysco Warehouse Management System) RF equipment to locate products for order building and accurate retrieval (for layer pick) following directed tasking and established PWMs.
* Build pallets in Ti/Hi configuration, label and confirm quantities and product (for layer pick) following directed tasking and established PWMs. Places older product on top of newer product for rotation purposes (date coded items)
* Count and label unused (residual) cases and return to correct slot (for layer pick) following directed tasking and established PWMs.
* When carrying multiple pallets, pallets with heavier items should be transported on the bottom and pallets with lighter items should be placed on the top to prevent damage to lighter product.
* Deliver stacked pallets to assigned area on loading dock to ensure that products are accurately staged and can be systematically loaded.
* Must successfully complete the forklift operator certification process and testing and be able to perform the PWMs.
**All Functions:**
* Work effectively with immediate supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink/damage (product loss).
* Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aisles, and the accuracy of warehouse locations.
* Report any unfixable/unsafe issues immediately to supervisor.
* Observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries.

JOB SUMMARY:

Monitors cartons diverted to QA areas and compiles QA findings for incorrect picks on error reports.
Inspects, Packs and Ship orders in the Packaging Department based on workflow needs.
Participates in slotting product into designated pick zones per UPC instruction when necessary.
Uses manual or powered jacks to move pallets to designated staging areas.
Operates WAV order picking equipment once trained and certified.
Attaches labels (LPN) to cartons without appropriate barcoded branding.
Unloads cartons from containers received and assembles pallets for shipment.
Performs cycle counts of pick and bulk locations, working closely with Inventory Control.
Keeps work area clean and organized daily.

**Job Description:**
• Will report directly to the Regional Manager and must be willing to work in any part of our distribution area in Metro Richmond and the surrounding counties.
• Will primarily be responsible for route delivery daily which includes our home delivery, single copy and TMC routes.
• From time to time this position will also train prospective carriers on a delivery route as designated by the Regional Manager.
• When not delivering newspaper routes this position will assist with the day to day operations of the distribution center which may include distributing paperwork, bundles of newspapers and cleaning up the warehouse.
• Work schedule/hours - 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. 5 days per week for a total of 25 hours per week
Position will operate on a rotating day off schedule Monday through Saturday (mon/tue, wed/thu, fri/sat)

M. Price Distributing Co. - One of the leading beverage distributors in Southeast Virginia is looking for a Full-Time Order Selector to join our Warehouse Team! As an order selector, you and the Night Shift team are responsible for building the sales order to be delivered the next day.
Work Schedule-
Sunday - Thursday starting at 04:00 PM with every other Tuesday off. End times are not fixed, they end when the orders are complete, trucks are loaded and the area has been cleaned up.
Starting Pay $15.00 per hour

Job Summary
The Order Selector is responsible for building orders for next-day delivery. This includes but is not limited to filling carts and building pallets. This job is fast paced and physically demanding.
