Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento. Pulls merchandise from stock for high-volume business delivery orders. Pulls and loads items onto the truck, and boxes small cooler and freezer items into milk crates. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtains pull sheet (list of number and location of items to pull for an order) from control desk. Lifts pallet from low stack and sets on floor. Observes safety and security procedures, such as, performing daily safety checklist for electric pallet jacks prior to use, checking manual pallet jacks and pallets and tagging any with defects, using proper lifting technique. Pulls pallet through warehouse, selects items from floor stock to assemble orders. Checks each pull to ensure correct item and quantity are pulled and that all items are in good condition. Enlists forklift driver to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large quantity item orders. Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone. Ensures that forklift is always traveling at a safe speed to ensure the safety of customers and other employees. When using the electric pallet jack, always follows the company's safety standards. Selectors will utilize forklift equipment to select and build pallets of product based on the labels they are given, while maintaining a high standard of efficiency and accuracy. Work environments vary depending on position and include but are not limited to dry, cooler and frozen room temperatures.
