Oregon Community Credit Union company history timeline

1956

It was established in 1956 by a group of employees working for the state government who "pooled their money together in a shoe box." It is now the third largest of 84 credit unions in Oregon, serving 28 counties.

1960

By 1960, Oregon State College Federal Credit Union had reached its first $1 million in deposits, and Mr.

2003

In 2003, the credit union considered merging with Portland Teachers Credit Union (now OnPoint Community Credit Union), the largest credit union in the state.

2010

In 2010, OCCU expanded it’s field of membership to include all residents in the state of Washington.

2014

In 2014, OSU Federal members voted to move the credit union from its previous federal charter to a state of Oregon charter.

2016

By 2016, nearly 100,000 people had joined Oregon State Credit Union.
