The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. The Campus Associate Dean is the onsite administrator for nursing operations and implementation of strategic priorities and a liaison between the regional University and the OHSU School of Nursing. This position reports to the OHSU SON Dean on matters pertaining to strategic priorities, organizational structure and functions, philanthropic affairs, human and material resource management, operational efficiencies, and outcomes associated with representing a regional community of interest. The Campus Associate Dean collaborates with, advises, and is accountable to, the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs OHSU SON for curricula and program management/delivery. Based on the complexity of the region and the varying scopes of services covered, the position may include faculty duties, including teaching, research, practice, and/or service. The OHSU School of Nursing in Klamath Falls is located on the Oregon Institute of Technology campus, which offers state-of-the-art bachelor's degree programs in engineering, health, and business technologies. Klamath Falls offers an outstanding array of natural and cultural wonders. Klamath Falls is 280 miles from Portland. Regional Leadership and Program Management Ensures program delivery meets regulatory and accreditation standards, including assessment and evaluation criteria. Serves as liaison and campus representative between OHSU SON and the respective regional university campus assigned; includes fostering and developing inter-agency relationships, service on committees and councils, and advancement of relationships between entities. Assists with regional recruitment of students to ensure program targets are met/exceeded. Initiates and leads the process for local hiring of faculty and staff. Supervises faculty, professional, and support staff on a regional campus, using a matrix model for input and evaluation. Ensures alignment with overall SON strategic, operational, and financial goals and tactics and functions as a SON leader, coordinating and cooperating with other leaders in support of School missions and goals. Visits clinical sites and maintains critical relationships with community partners that include, but are not limited to, practice and community health agencies, community thought leaders, and others who interface with the SON to ensure input from SON communities of interest. Advises and assists with alumni, philanthropic, and legislative endeavors per planned opportunities. Serves as a media spokesperson for the SON at the regional level, in collaboration with OHSU strategic communications and the dean. Ensures that regional characteristics are considered in all SON planned curricular, research, and practice missions.     The role of an Audio Visual Events Consultant (AV Events Consultant) is to facilitate outstanding, engaging, and seamless AV services to on-campus, remote, and hybrid events. The AV Events Consultant and the AV Events team will work with campus partners and external clients to strategize, implement, and produce a wide variety of events at locations including the PSU sports arena, ballroom, auditoriums, conference rooms, classrooms, and partner hotel. From small, student-run meetings to production services for internationally renowned speakers: this position is part of the team that makes these experiences come to life. The AV Events Consultant's, day might start with checking in for an assigned event, surveying the room's readiness, and heading to gear storage to select the appropriate equipment needed for the quoted configuration. Once setup is complete, verify with the client that all their needs were met, and conduct a final sound check before taking a break and returning to operating sound for the 2-hour event. At the close of the event, another member of the team joins to assist in the breakdown and the teams work together to ensure all gear is neatly returned to storage. The second half of the day may include a team meeting in which the AV Events Consultant has an opportunity to showcase some new tricks designed into the lighting controller for use in the Ballroom and take on an assignment to document what was learned in an article on the team's online knowledgebase. The last part of the day may be spent responding to a couple of event requests, asking for more information from one client and preparing a quote for another. The day ends with processing the billings for several outstanding events from the prior week. Before leaving, the schedule will be double-checked to note the position's support for a weekend event and thus have Thursday and Friday off. Key Responsibilities 60% - Stands watch as the roving engineer at sea and daily duty engineer in ports other than Newport on a rotating basis with other engineers. Assumes responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the engineering plant by performing constant checks on pressures and temperatures, fuel consumption, fluid levels, and conditions of operating machinery ensuring safe, economical, and efficient operation. Operates shipboard equipment such as pumps, winches, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, refrigeration equipment, air compressors, cranes, sewage systems, water makers, piping/tank systems, and boilers. 25% - Assists in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of ship's machinery: hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and ballast systems; air conditioning; refrigeration; fresh water and saltwater firefighting system; and winches, hoists, blocks, boats/motors, etc. Operates lathe and other precision tools. Assists in change-out of equipment, and in the layout and installation of new equipment. Utilizes current Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). 5% - Updates computerized maintenance software and other logs/records as needed upon overhaul or repair of ship's machinery and equipment. Keeps inventory records. Maintains stocks of supplies and spare parts for ship's machinery, equipment, piping, and mechanical systems, and hydraulic systems. Assists in fueling and watering the vessel and keeps records of fuel, water, and lubricating oil consumption for the Chief Engineer. 5% - Assists in the installation and at-sea repair of mechanical and electrical scientific equipment as requested. 5% - Actively participates in shipboard drills and emergency training, including training ashore. Maintains firefighting and safety equipment. Fights fires and administers First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when required. Other duties as assigned.
