14C Medicine is a 31 bed acute care medicine unit. The 14C Medicine unit provides service to patient populations ages 18-100+ who have a variety of medical, acute care diagnoses and some cardiac conditions, such as atrial arrhythmias and NSTEMI cases. Unit Vision:
"We will provide exceptional care as a collaborative team that honors, respects and values our patients as well as each other"
14C is one of two units that admit psychiatric patients with medical issues which cannot be managed on the inpatient psychiatric unit (1NW). We have a Psychiatric Professional Practice Leader available to consult on this population.
14C prides itself on outstanding team work and collaboration with our patients, families and the entire care team on behalf of our patients. The patient is at the center of all we do. Standard procedures are in place to ensure a high-quality, consistent experience for all of our patients regardless of which staff members are working.
14C is part of the medicine teaching service and welcomes the contributions many of our students give to us and our patients. This includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and more who are working to improve their academic education in the service of patients. We also work to grow the scientific body of healthcare knowledge by encouraging original research, performance improvement and participating in appropriate research studies.
