This position provides technical support to pharmacists through preparation of unit doses, data entry, delivery of medications, and cartfill exchange. Person working this shift is responsible for ensuring accountability and accuracy of standard operations procedures in these areas. Position works under direct supervision of a Pharmacist who is responsible for the safe and proper distribution and use of drugs in inpatients and outpatients who range in age from neonates, infants 65.
Function/Duties of Position
Assist pharmacist through performance of the following technical support activities:
Computer order entry of inpatient and outpatient orders.
Filling unit dose medication orders.
Select ordered medications from inventory to fill new orders or to provide 24-hours medication for distribution to patient's room.
Answering telephone, filing, billing / crediting and medication profile maintenance.
Load and refill medications into automated dispensing cabinet stations.
Prioritize labels from new orders to assure that product is delivered to label location at least one hour prior to label due time.
Organize and restock work areas during and prior to end of shift, and remove expired medication.
Round to nursing locations; deliver items and remove excess and discontinued oral dosage and injectable dosage units from patients' bins and refrigerators and return to pharmacy for action.
Perform Unit Dose functions including:
Tube medications from pharmacy to hospital and clinic areas.
Repackage medications for unit dose dispensing; maintain and replenish stock for emergency trays and kits.
Return medications to stock and perform credits.
Record refrigerator temperature daily.
Process narcotics for removal from pharmacy inventory and order replacements as needed.
Maintain barcode medication integrity by ensuring medications are barcoded before leaving the pharmacy.
Maintain manufacturing logs and documents to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Perform other technician duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
Completion of high school degree
State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License, including the completion and maintenance of job-specific competencies and certifications
Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):
Completion of training competencies
Computer keyboard
Ability to read and understand medical-related terms.
Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations.
Skill at manipulating small objects, e.g., needles, syringes, ampules.

Home infusion technicians working this shift are responsible for ensuring accountability and accuracy of standard operations procedures in home infusion pharmacy. Position works under direct supervision of a Pharmacist who is responsible for the safe and proper distribution of medication to home infusion patients.
Relief employees must be available to work at least four (4) days per pay period as determined according to the department needs
Function/Duties of Position
Prepare, mix and compound sterile medications, including chemotherapy, following aseptic procedure guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and sterility of USP ISO 5, 7, and 8 areas through daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning
Prepare and package medication and supplies for patient deliveries.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma,
Active State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License AND

Participate in program faculty meetings. Maintain college standards regarding professionalism, record keeping and instruction within the Allied Health Occupations department and the Pharmacy Tech faculty team.
Supervision Received
The Allied Health Occupations director, with guidance from the dean, is responsible for carrying out the evaluation of instructors under procedures developed by the vice president. The department director confers with the dean in decisions regarding instructor workload, professional growth, retention, and department staffing levels.
* Prepare, distribute and utilize instructional support materials including course syllabi, supplementary materials, instructional media and other devices as appropriate.
* Submit syllabus for each course in approved format to program Training Services Coordinator a minimum of 2 weeks prior to term start date.
* Determine appropriate textbooks and supplementary instructional materials.
* Incorporate, as pedagogically appropriate, current technology in classroom and distance learning.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. At least two years of recent full-time industry related employment experience (with supervision) required. Broad clinical and teaching experience within the specified industry preferred. Clinical experience that includes training and instruction to students preferred.
Knowledge of: Computer applications for online learning through Rogue Community College's Learning Management System (Blackboard), grading, communication and learning, including, but not limited to, word processing, use of the Internet, spreadsheets and database management, multi-media presentations; curriculum development; the community colleges mission, role in higher education, and student population; and sensitivity to a diverse student body and its needs; of the role of accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act; of a variety of pedagogical methods, including lecture, group activity, discussion and individual instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles. This position provides technical support to pharmacists through preparation of unit doses, data entry, delivery
of medications, and cartfill exchange. Person working this shift is responsible for ensuring accountability and
accuracy of standard operations procedures in these areas. Position works under direct supervision of a Pharmacist who is responsible for the safe and proper distribution and use of drugs in inpatients and outpatients who range in age from neonates, infants
ages 19-65, and the elderly age >65. Be able to perform duties as specified in Pharmacy Technician 1 and 2
Class Specifications as applicable to work unit.
Function/Duties of Position
Assist pharmacist through performance of the following technical support activities:
Computer order entry of inpatient and outpatient orders.
Filling unit dose medication orders.
Select ordered medications from inventory to fill new orders or to provide 24-hours medication for distribution to patient's room.
Answering telephone, filing, billing / crediting and medication profile maintenance.
Load and refill medications into automated dispensing cabinet stations.
Maintain manufacturing logs and document to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
Prepare, mix and compound sterile medications, including chemotherapy.
Adherence to aseptic procedures when preparing, mixing and compounding sterile hazardous and non-hazardous medications.
Performs pharmaceutical calculations in verifying dosage for medications to be prepared.
Cleans and maintains primary and secondary engineering controls (e.g., vertical and laminar flow hoods) and equipment used to compound sterile hazardous and non-hazardous medications (e.g. repeater pump, work surfaces), discarding all non-preserved and/or non-labeled solutions in order to keep work area clean and orderly.
Prioritize labels from new orders to assure that product is delivered to label location at least one hour prior to label due time.
Organize and restock work areas during and prior to end of shift, and remove expired medication.
Round to nursing locations; deliver items and remove excess and discontinued oral dosage and injectable dosage units from patients' bins and refrigerators and return to pharmacy for action.
Perform other technician duties as assigned based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, active State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License AND
2 years of pharmacy work experience, or equivalent additional education; AND
Certification from the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association. Certification must be maintained.

Ability to read and understand medical-related terms.
Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations.
Skill at manipulating small objects, e.g., needles, syringes, ampules.
Ability to use mechanical system for transfer of fluids.
Knowledge of and skill at application of aseptic technique.
Ability to establish priorities in workflow.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work under supervision of diverse Pharmacists.

Job Summary
The College of Pharmacy invites applications for 9-month, full-time and part-time Instructors to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2025/2026 academic year. These appointments are fixed-term and non-tenure track.
Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis.
