This position will require you to observe the clinical progress of the radiation oncology patient, use clinical decision-making skills to recognize and report any signs of complications, unusual reactions, and events to the nursing staff and/or Radiation Oncologist. Additional duties could include assisting with the training, mentoring, and/or directly supervision of Radiation Therapy students. The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated experience working as a Radiation Therapist. This includes the ability to safely and effectively operate a variety of computerized simulation and treatment machines, and the ability to perform all necessary machine and treatment quality assurances, and be able and willing to work in all areas within the unit. This position requires professional conduct and the ability to effectively communicate and interact within clinical settings with a variety of individuals in written and oral formats. Required Qualifications: Education and Experience Must have attended an accredited training program recognized by the ARRT. Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy. OR Bachelor's degree or higher in Radiologic Science or healthcare field and a certificate in Radiation Therapy; OR 6 additional years of recent, related experience and a certificate in Radiation. Must be licensed by OBMI. BLS certified required. Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses Therapists must be ARRT certified or scheduled for examination by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and licensed by 90-day evaluation. Must be licensed by the Oregon State Board of Radiologic Technology at time of hire date. Must have and maintain AHA CPR certification at time of hire date. Preferred Qualifications: One year (or more) working in the field post-graduation. Experience with the following equipment: Varian, Elekta, Tomotherapy, Mosaiq, ExacTrac, Calypso, Philips CT and VisionRT. Familiarity with IORT, SRS, SBRT, TBI, TSEI, and HDR. Provide helpful community relations, customer service, and pro-active reporting functions with the DPS staff and customers throughout OHSU, including, but not limited to, the following: Inform the appropriate department(s) of any problems noticed, changes in conditions, possible/actual interruptions of services, unsafe conditions, and any potential/actual unsafe condition. Actively develop strong, productive working relationships with key individuals in all areas of the University by initiating non-crisis contacts whenever possible. Interact with all community members in a professional, courteous, and inclusive manner that reflects positively on the DPS and OHSU. An NSF-funded Research and Training Group (RTG) in Computation- And Data-Enabled Science (CADES) at Portland State University (PSU) will produce unique workforce additions possessing deep knowledge in specific areas of computational mathematics and statistics, as well as a broad understanding of current issues in data-driven science. The CADES group effort is divided into three areas: (Area I) numerical techniques for partial differential operators, (Area II) data-intensive statistical learning, and (Area III) optimization methods for data science. In addition to foundational issues in computational mathematics, examples of applied research directions include light propagation through optical devices, forecasting of weather, air quality, and drought, understanding progression of diseases like cancer and dementia, and multifacility location problems for warehouse and wireless services. All projects involve high performance computing and open-source scientific software products. Currently, we are seeking postdoctoral candidates interested in working in our team RTG environment. Candidates whose doctoral research experience intersects with at least one of Areas I, II, III, and who are desirous of acquiring skills in the remaining areas, are sought. NSF requires all RTG postdocs to be US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents. In the CADES program, trainees develop skills not solely for academia, but also for research careers in industry and government labs. This RTG specifically aims to produce researchers A. trained in both mathematical and statistical techniques requiring advanced computational tools, B. exposed to both disciplinary advances and real-world data, and C. able to communicate both mathematically and in application-specific language. To this end, innovative training structures, seldom found in mathematics departments, are now being built at the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Mathematics & Statistics for RTG postdocs and students. The department has previously leveraged large philanthropic investments to successfully recruit leading scholars in computational science. It offers growth opportunities in a nurturing atmosphere where senior faculty are invested in collaborative group building and mentoring. The department is housed in a newly renovated LEED-certified modern facility in downtown Portland, well-connected by rail, streetcar, and bus lines. Function/Duties of Position Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine (APOM) is seeking a board certified or board eligible pediatric anesthesiologist. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the University's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. Appointee shall have a demonstrated competence in patient care and teaching/mentorship. The most desired candidate will also have interest/experience in research/scholarship/discovery and/or administrative leadership. Teaches trainees and support staff in their area of professional expertise. Teaching is done through assigned lectures to be given during the course of the year and through teaching in the course of performing their own job by modeling best practices, mentoring trainees, guiding learning through delegating graduated and focused levels of responsibility.
