This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Veterinary Kennel Attendant Student Worker for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Oregon State University (OSU).
This position is located at the Small Animal Hospital in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Magruder Hall. The purpose of the Student Kennel Attendant is to help maintain the hospital and associated equipment. The position may have contact with animals and assist with their care as directed by the veterinary staff and faculty.

Additional Required Qualifications
Experience and/or familiarity working with and around small animals (dogs and cats). Basic knowledge of medical terminology and small animal anatomy. Must be responsible, reliable, self-motivated and detail oriented. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 200 pounds.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Previous experience in a hospital or veterinary setting is preferred. This would be an ideal position for a pre-veterinary or animal sciences student with an interest in small animals (dogs and cats).
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This position requires 15 to 20 hours per week, generally between the hours of 4pm and 8pm Monday through Friday (usually late afternoon and evening hours), with some weekend shifts required (Saturday mornings/afternoons or Sunday evenings). Employees should be prepared for exposure to cleaning chemicals, loud noises, animal blood or tissue, unpleasant or noxious odors and fractious patients.

20% - Landscaping: Design and develop new garden areas around campus buildings to enhance aesthetics and provide wildlife habitat. Maintain existing landscapes to ensure ongoing quality and appeal.

The School of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems ( AFIS ) is part of the College of Business. The College of Business offers a full spectrum of undergraduate and graduate programs, and teaching assignments may include both undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Information Systems.

The OSU -Cascades Campus Safety Team is seeking a Campus Safety Officer. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, public safety professional position.
This position is located in Bend, Oregon.

Key Responsibilities
50% - Patrol
+ Provide vehicular, bicycle, and foot patrol of University grounds in an effort to protect life and property and promote safe campus operations. Ensure all buildings are secured as required and assist the Transportation Manager with parking enforcement.
+ Perform regularly scheduled fire drills and documents results. Performs regularly scheduled inspections of patrol vehicle and safety equipment ( AED & Fire Extinguishers) and documents results.
+ Promote safety and security at special events, including but not limited to providing traffic control, crowd control and security screening.
+ Provide information and general assistance to the campus community and the general public.
+ Provide walking safety escort for members of the campus community.
+ In a courteous and professional manner, determine authorization of persons in buildings; document and report suspicious persons or vehicles, criminal activity, hazards, fire, and property damage and/or loss. Issue Exclusion (Trespass) Notices as required to protect people and property on campus.
+ Respond to calls for emergency medical aid and coordinate with emergency services to expedite their response.
+ Observe and report potentially hazardous physical conditions; may remedy condition when appropriate (e.g., fallen limbs, debris, damage to streets or sidewalks, etc.); respond to situations representing a threat to persons or property (e.g., break-ins, fights, illicit drug activity, etc.); may intervene to prevent injury, and call for police assistance as necessary; secure scene and may obtain information from involved parties to assist local law enforcement officials.

20% - Office Duties
+ Maintain the shift log for on-duty activities.

+ Enforce guidelines and limitations established by management including but not limited to: Skateboard Policy, Speech Policy, Alcoholic Beverage Policy, parking enforcement and Bicycle Regulations. Refer violators to the student conduct process, University management or local law enforcement as necessary and appropriate to the person's status.
+ Assist Resident Assistants and other University Residential Education and Housing professional staff in the performance of their duties; to include the enforcement of University Residence Hall regulations and policies on Alcohol and Marijuana possession and confiscation.
5% - Assist Facilities Services
+ Assist, as needed, with snow removal, de-icing, office moves and other services as required. Issue identification cards to staff, faculty, students, and contractors; issue physical keys for building access to students, employees, and contractors; input electronic access permissions and attributes for system users; set building electronic door locks.
5% - Outreach & Education
+ Assist in the development and delivery of campus crime prevention, medical (1st Aid/ CPR / AED ), Resident Assistant and emergency management training for the University.

What You Will Need
+ Be at least twenty-one years of age;
+ Possess and maintain a current, valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of appointment to the position;

+ Possess and maintain certification for Law Enforcement Data Systems ( LEDS ), or obtain within 90 days of appointment to the position;

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Position hiring for is expected to work midnight/third shift. Working conditions include working outside in various weather conditions to perform vehicle patrol, foot patrol and bicycle patrol.
Must be available to work all shifts: day, swing, and night.
Working Schedule: 4/10 hour days, or 5/8 hour days plus any emergency and on call responses. (Shift and/or work assignment maybe changed based on operational needs. Public Safety is a seven day a week operation, as a result, weekends and holiday work maybe required).
Employee carries a cell phone during all working hours.

Job Summary
The PAC Recreational SCUBA Program within the Physical Activities Course ( PAC ) Program, a part of the School of Exercise, Sport, and Health Sciences, in the College of Health at Oregon State University is seeking SCUBA Certification Evaluators. This is a part-time, (varied FTE ), hourly, 12-month, professional faculty position.
Applications submitted to this recruitment pool are reviewed on an as needed basis. Qualified candidates will be contacted when positions become available throughout the academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the program Director. Scheduling for each term is determined in February for Spring term, November for Winter term, and beginning in May for Fall term.
This position supports the SCUBA courses offered through the PAC Recreational SCUBA Programs within the Physical Activity Course ( PAC ) program at Oregon State University by guiding and evaluating students throughout the process of achieving certification through the Professional Association of Diving Instructors ( PADI ). Courses currently offered include Open Water ( PAC 242), Advanced Open Water ( PAC 243), Rescue Diver ( PAC 244), specialties ( PAC 245), and Divemaster I & II ( PAC 299).
Incumbent will provide additional supervision and/or run pool and open water sessions independently in SCUBA classes and make sure PADI ratio standards are met so students are safe in the learning environment.
The primary mission of the PAC Program is to provide all Oregon State University students with the knowledge and experience to make sound decisions regarding present and future physically active lifestyles. The intent of the PAC Program is to provide quality instruction in safe, adequately equipped facilities and to create a positive, enjoyable learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
80% - Evaluation
- Work directly with students (small group and individually, including minors) in pool sessions and open water dives as they practice techniques, skills, and equipment usage which are necessary for certification.
- Assist or independently run dive groups of 20+ students with assistance from additional staff and/or volunteers in pool sessions and open water dives.
- Modify level and amount of assistance provided to students based on each student's individual skill and comfort level.
- Evaluate each student's skills to determine when it is appropriate to build on techniques and continue with the next step in the established curriculum. Work with students in a confined water and open water environment.
- Enforce all safety rules at the pool and open water sites.
- Guide students with proper dive planning for open water dives.
- Drive/transport students and/or equipment to open water sites.
20% - Equipment
- Provide general equipment care. Service equipment if incumbent possesses the necessary factory equipment certification.
- Ensure equipment and other materials are set up prior to course meetings.
- Wash, sanitize, and store equipment after use.
- Help with inventory check in and out.
- Depending on course level, demonstrate equipment function, use, and assist students with using equipment.
What You Will Need
Current, valid PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification, professional liability insurance, and current good standing with PADI .
Current, valid Adult CPR and AED Essentials and First Aid and oxygen provider (the certifications must be completed prior to the start of classes; more advanced training will be accepted).
Minimum of 150 dives. 20 dives must be in a professional supervisory position and 4 of the 20 dives must be with the OSU SCUBA program, may be earned before start date as an OSU volunteer.
Ability to manage small groups (6 students alone) and with assist with large groups of students (up to 10).
Ability to be flexible with students' needs.
Ability to cooperate with other SCUBA instructional team members and volunteer staff, possibly in high stress environments.
Experience with diving in night conditions (at least 10) and Deep dives (at least 10).
Able to safely operate full size trucks loaded with SCUBA equipment or operate 12 passenger vans with students.
Current, valid DAN accident insurance.
Ability to provide own SCUBA equipment necessary for OSU's dive environment.

The College operates within a total budget (from all sources) of approximately $32 million annually, which supports educational programs, veterinary medical and diagnostic public services, and research programs with broad impacts related to animal and human health. The Department of Clinical Sciences oversees clinical, classroom, and laboratory teaching, and scholarly activity of clinical faculty and residents. The VTH provides primary and referral health care for animals throughout the Pacific Northwest. Its small animal clinic was completed in 2005 and expanded in 2019. It has modern examination and treatment space, full-service diagnostic imaging and surgery facilities and a catheter laboratory for pacemaker implantation and other interventional procedures.
The purpose of this position is to provide clinical service, foster critical thinking, generate original medical information and advance professional veterinary students' and house officers' knowledge and skills through research, mentorship and instruction in the Department of Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The balance between these duties will differ between candidates in our clinical and tenure tracks. Duties and expectations will vary with the FTE of the appointment.
The Department is receptive to faculty members seeking part-time appointments; FTE is negotiable between 0.30-1.0 FTE for clinical-track and 0.50-1.0 FTE for tenure-track. This position may be benefit eligible. Eligibility for most core benefits start at .5 FTE .
The incumbent provides Oncology services to veterinary patients admitted during regular hours and after hours. The emphasis is on small companion animals, but very occasionally involves large animals or exotic species. Achievement in scholarship and creative activity that is recognized as contributing to the body of knowledge in the practice discipline is required. Key Responsibilities
45% - Export Compliance
+ Primary duties include conducting reviews of university activities for deemed exports, end-use and end-user restrictions, embargoes and sanctions, restricted party screenings, and anti-boycott restrictions in order to determine recommendations for the best course of action to minimize risk to the University, including requests for specific authorization or determinations from the U.S. Government, according to the regulatory requirements and best practices, included within but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ( ITAR ), the Export Administration Regulations ( EAR ), the Foreign Assets Controls Regulations ( FACR ), and those administered by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Department of Energy.
+ Assist in implementing methods to ensure physical as well as deemed export controls are in place. In doing so, the Analyst must understand or be willing to learn a range of commodities controlled by the Commerce Control List and U.S. Munitions List, and how export control regulations and laws apply, etc.
+ Work with the Director and researchers to make accurate commodity classification determinations and requests for classification to external parties, including the Department of Commerce and the Department of State.
+ Work with the Director and OSU's international programs to ensure compliance with Federal requirements for the issuance and maintenance of visas for visiting scholars and international employees.
+ Review foreign travel requests involving OSU -owned equipment or business in order to make recommendations to ensure the safety and security of the faculty, staff, or students and the materials with which they are traveling.
+ Review proposals, awards, and agreements for concerns related to export compliance and identify potential risks or compliance issues, and prepare recommendations for the Director.
+ Maintain detailed records and the export control record-keeping systems.
25% Research Security Compliance
+ Support the Research Security program's outreach and training, including preparing materials, management, liaison with other departments, reviews, and tracking, as well as website maintenance.
+ Assist researchers in understanding and navigating reporting requirements, and mitigating risks and assisting in the development and monitoring of any necessary mitigation plans.
+ Conduct comprehensive reviews to ensure compliance with institutional and federal requirements, as outlined in National Security Presidential Memorandum No. 33 ( NSPM -33) and the CHIPS + Science Act and make recommendations to the Director.
15% - Coordination, Analysis and Communication
+ Work closely and collaborate with partners in the Division of Research and Innovation, Procurement, Contract Services, Office of General Counsel, University Information Technology, Office of International Services, and other units, including with researchers and faculty, to identify, understand, apply, and comply with export control and research security obligations to a wide variety of university activities that have implications for operations in international travel and collaborations, physical exports, research agreements, awards, and grants, fieldwork, and international visiting scholar or employee appointments.
+ Serve as an effective partner with all OSU units. Build rapport and relationships with key stakeholders as export control and research security compliance involves extensive and ongoing collaboration with internal and external partnerships and working collaboratively in a cross-functional approach on sensitive and complex issues.
+ Performs regular assessments of export compliance and research security. Identifies and researches potential compliance risks, gaps, and violations. Makes recommendations to the Director.
10% - Outreach and Training
+ Support export control and research security education and outreach for the OSU community, including preparation of materials, record keeping, and assisting with facilitation of the educational programs.
+ Assist with the maintenance of a comprehensive website, including up-to-date web-based materials.
+ Participate in regional and national organizations that include export controls or research security as a distinct component. Including continuing education and remaining current on issues, policies, regulations, and best practices.
+ Serves as the communications manager for the export and drone email accounts.
5% - Other Duties as Assigned by the Director, Export Control and Research Security
+ The percentage of time spent on each of the above duties is expected to vary over time and with the demands of the position.

45% - Deck Machinery & Small-Boat Operations
Operates/tends ship's equipment-winches, A-frame, ship's boat and davits, anchor windlass, and capstan-to support scientific operations at sea. In port, operates ship's deck gear (e.g., cranes and winches) to load and unload supplies and equipment; assists in shipboard operations as required during research work.
30% - Deck Maintenance & Seamanship
Cleans, paints, and maintains the ship's hull, decks, bulkheads, equipment, masts, quarters, heads, and tanks. Assists in mooring and unmooring, rigging and handling scientific gear, and loading/unloading equipment and stores.
20% - Watchstanding
Stands watch as helmsperson, visual and radar lookout at sea aboard OSU Mid-Size Research Vessels (MSRVs). May perform security watch in port and stands other watches as assigned for a specified period at the Master/Mate's direction.
5% - Safety, Drills, and Emergency Response
Actively participates in shipboard drills and emergency training (including training ashore). Maintains assigned firefighting and safety equipment. Responds to emergencies per the Station Bill (e.g., firefighting, first aid). Performs other duties as assigned.
Fleet assignment clause:
As licensed/qualified and as assigned, may temporarily support other vessels within OSU Marine Operations (e.g., Small Boats Program, R/V Taani, or successor/new-build vessels) to maintain safe crewing and operational continuity across the fleet.
What We Require
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
High School Diploma (or equivalent) and six months of maritime experience.
LICENSING / CERTIFICATIONS :
- Merchant Mariner's Credential with an endorsement of Able Seaman, Special, or higher issued by the Coast Guard
- STCW endorsements as appropriate for this position.
- Ability to obtain a passport
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English
- Meet Coast Guard drug testing requirements
What You Will Need
Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential ( TWIC ).
What We Would Like You to Have
+ Experience working at sea on research vessels (one year or more preferred).
+ Experience operating/tending deck machinery-oceanographic winches, A-frame, capstans, anchor windlass, and deck cranes-in accordance with standing orders and SOPs.
+ Mechanical, electrical, electronic, welding, or other specialized skills applicable to vessel maintenance and repair
+ Proficiency in seamanship and rigging (line handling, knots/splices, safe gear handling for over-the-side ops).
+ Experience supporting scientific deployments (e.g., CTD casts, nets/trawls, coring, moorings) in coordination with the bridge and deck team.
+ First Aid/ CPR (current) beyond STCW Basic Training.
+ Experience operating in Pacific Northwest/Alaska coastal waters (OR/WA/CA/AK).
+ Commitment to a respectful, safe, and inclusive shipboard environment.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This position requires periods at sea aboard OSU Mid-Size Research Vessels (MSRVs)-including, but not limited to, the R/V Elakha and R/V Pacific Storm-on research cruises ranging from a few hours to several days, and, depending on vessel/mission, extended overnight voyages (up to ~30 days) in highly variable ocean and weather conditions.
This is an intermittent relief pool position. Work is scheduled as needed on a voyage/project basis. Assignment length and schedules vary with operational needs.
The incumbent must not be incapacitated by seasickness and must be able to stand lookout/helm and deck watches in rough, unpredictable conditions.
Ship Operations is a seven-day-per-week program; weekend and holiday work may be required. Shift and/or work assignments may change based on operational needs, including early departures, late returns, and weather delays.
Public-health/communicable-disease mitigation measures (e.g., testing, screening, vaccination attestation, quarantine, and/or self-reporting) may be required under OSU policy and sponsor/customer requirements.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds, and to move/secure lines and scientific equipment on deck.

Will administer and teach 1-4 on-campus undergraduate courses.
