Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
Under appropriate supervision, prepares and maintains a confidential, accurate, organized, and updated case file for each assigned client. Maintains the timeliness of documentation as outlined in departmental policies/protocols.
Complies with documentation requirements as outlined in program policies, protocols, and procedures for activities (e.g., assessments, treatment plans, treatment procedures), and in the preparation of required reports.
Identifies and responds to crises that may negatively impact treatment and where possible, uses the negative events to enhance treatment efforts. Initiates contact with Crisis Intervention Counselor, as indicated, for support and/or intervention.
Identifies client's barriers to successful program completion. Responds to barriers such as: age, education level, medical, mental health, transportation, etc.
Monitors client behaviors and symptoms that may impact or change level of care recommendation/diagnosis and notifies Treatment Counselor of need for possible reassessment.
Facilitates Treatment plus group(s) as assigned.
Maintains close communication with Agency's contract doctor, consulting psychiatrist, and/or community medical providers for input regarding medication compliance, side effects of medication, and medication changes. Alerts identified staff of any changes in client adjustment which might suggest decompensation and a need for intervention.
Initiates communication and/or meeting with client's identified loved one(s) in order to promote and support successful integration back into the community.
Assists clients with becoming more positive, productive, prosocial members in the community.
Acts as an advocate for clients and holds clients accountable to treatment rules and expectations.
Prepares and maintains a confidential, organized, accurate, and updated EHR for each assigned client.
Collaborates with treatment team members, including clinicians, Cognitive Skills Specialist(s), and Recovery Coaches to ensure client's progress is discussed and needs are met.
Manages caseload in an effective manner. Manages time and organizes work demands appropriately. Meets deadlines established by the clinical management staff.
Meets with clients regularly and in accordance with program procedures.
Ensures client attendance in primary treatment groups, plus groups, and enhanced programming. Assist in identifying and problem solving barriers to regular attendance.
Prepares and maintains accurate records, documents, and outside correspondence according to Agency requirements.
Participates in team meetings as scheduled with program staff and supervisor. Discusses client issues and case reviews.
Maintains familiarity of and utilizes community resources. Completes appropriate release of information forms as required for making a referral and/or releasing information.
Transports clients to appointments in a safe manner and follows agency policies regarding transportation of clients. Completes appropriate interventions during client transportation to create billable activities.
Effectively manages time on and off Oriana House, Inc., premises while on duty.
Coordinates necessary insurance related appointments to ensure clients have applied for or have medical insurance.
Makes referrals based on client's ongoing needs and as reflected in the Individual Treatment Plan.
Assists clients with making suitable housing arrangements.
Ensures warm hand-offs in the community by transporting/linking client with resources following release to the community. Documents same in client's Electronic Health Records (generating billable services).
Recognizes the need for case consultation with supervisors by participating in case reviews, maintaining contact with referring professionals, and seeking assistance in matters that exceed the clinician's level of expertise and/or scope of practice.
Manages time and organizes work demands appropriately.
Maintains professional training in order to complete licensure examination and receives license within expected timeframe.
Maintains licensure and/or certification required for job assignment.
Recognizes and effectively addresses and redirect clients' anti-social behaviors.
Collects client UDS and alcohol screens as needed and assigned.
FAA Specific: Continues client engagement post-release from facility for active clients to ensure client's continued success in accessing resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Must complete 40 hours of training in the first 60 days of hire to become a Qualified Behavior Health Specialist under the Medicaid guidelines.
Must be eligible and willing to obtain a CDCA within three months of working in the facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Behavioral Health or related field and LCDC II or above.
Must have strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess reliable transportation, a valid Ohio driver's license, and a driving record that does not preclude the employee from being covered by Agency liability insurance.
Must have the ability to work effectively with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.

Behavioral Health Specialist Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
Conducts effective and timely performance evaluations in collaboration with the clinical supervisors and processes paperwork appropriately for supervised employees. Coordinates performance evaluation meeting with Treatment/Clinical Assistant and Treatment Coordinator.
In collaboration with the clinical team, effectively addresses disciplinary issues with supervised employees; accurately and thoroughly documents and processes disciplinary actions in a timely manner and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Conducts and coordinates on-the-job training for new employees utilizing the Treatment/Clinical Assistant training plan. Forwards completed training plan to the Staff Development Department. Conducts other training as needed. Follows up as necessary.
Ensures that newly hired Behavioral Health Specialists obtain their CDCAs and QMHSs within the required timeframe.
Conducts and/or coordinates safety training for new and transferred employees utilizing the Agency safety training checklist. Forwards completed checklist to the Staff Development Department.
Ensures supervised employees meet minimum training requirements. Monitors training attendance. Monitors compliance with employees' training schedules.
Process payroll and handles time card issues for supervised employees.
Provides effective in-service training for staff in areas such as new policies/procedures/contract/accreditation requirements.
Assists with processing grievances and complaints in a timely manner.
Reads required documentation on a daily basis (e.g., shift report, sanitation completion, incident reports, Care Logic Reports, UDS report, Safety and Security Check Sheets, etc.). Follows up on critical items in a timely and effective manner
QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Must complete 50 hours of training in the first 60 days of hire to become a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist under the Medicaid guidelines. Must be eligible and willing to obtain a CDCA within three months of working in the facility. Must be willing to demonstrate a positive attitude regarding the disease concept of addiction. Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
Effectively and courteously answers all telephone calls received at OHHC reception desk.
Maintains telephone coverage during hours on duty. Answers call courteously and professionally.
Directs calls to the appropriate party in a timely manner and takes concise messages as needed.
Makes overhead pages for groups or individuals in a clear, concise, and professional manner as necessary.
Effectively and courteously greets individuals who arrive at the building (e.g., employees, clients, and visitors). Directs people as necessary and ensures they are escorted as required. Notifies assigned Pretrial Supervision Monitor or Clinician when clients arrive.

Prepares mail for pick up for Agency Courier in a timely and organized manner. Receives, sorts, and distributes all incoming U.S. mail and interoffice mail in a timely and accurate manner.
Performs timely and accurate data entry functions into ORION and/or other databases as needed. Follows up with corrections of any found errors. Inputs accurate alco-sensor test results. Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
Assesses clients' health care needs and provides required nursing care, health education, and referrals.
Works under the supervision of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician during examinations and treatment. Provides nursing care that requires an understanding of diseases and illnesses, sufficient enough to enhance communication with physician, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse (RN), and patients.

Performs vision screening, obtains urine samples, does phlebotomy, administers IM injections, and conducts tuberculin skin tests.

Responsibilities:
Assist with maintaining accurate case files for assigned clients.
Orient clients to program expectations, rules, rights, grievance procedures, and available services.
Support intake processes by helping complete documentation such as consent forms and initial assessments.
Participate in the development of assessment-based treatment plans with client involvement.
Provide client education through lectures, multimedia resources, and approved reading materials.
Inform clients about self-help groups and community resources.
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries in accordance with the Agency Code of Ethics.
Express empathy appropriately while addressing antisocial behaviors positively and constructively.
Assist in de-escalating volatile situations using cognitive-based intervention strategies.
Interact professionally with staff, visitors, law enforcement, and other stakeholders.
Ensure clients' rights are upheld and confidentiality maintained according to Agency policies, HIPAA, and 42 C.F.R. Part 2.
Support general facility operations, including preparing client spaces and adhering to safety and OSHA standards.

Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a degree program (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
Reads, initials, and dates shift reports within first 60 minutes of shift.
Maintains an active presence on the floor (common and group room areas) by conducting frequent circulations of the unit at a minimum 30 minute intervals. Monitors clients to detect unusual or harmful behavior and immediately reports any concerns to supervisory or clinical staff. Checks for unsafe conditions and unit cleanliness. Documents and corrects conditions/takes steps to correct conditions as required.
Completes scheduled activities including, but not limited to: focus group activities, counseling groups under appropriate clinical supervision, intakes, random alco-sensor tests, urine drug screens, dorm/room searches, and emergency drills (fire, tornado, etc.) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Monitors medication compliance and reports and documents any non-compliance to clinical and or medical staff.
Listens to all clients and provides emotional support and encouragement to them.
Participates in recreational activities with clients including card games, sports, puzzles, etc. Engages clients in exercises or activities and ensures their safety.
Encourages clients to attend and participate in clinical, social, educational, or recreational activities.
Understands and implements Individual Treatment Plans.
Intervenes as necessary in crisis situations to protect clients from injuring other clients, staff, and/or themselves according to policy.

DRIVER DUTIES WHEN TRANSPORTING CLIENT(S)
Transports clients to pre-scheduled/non-emergent appointments or any event their supervisor identifies client as needing transportation to and from. Schedules clients in ORION for unscheduled e.g., emergency room visits etc., after discussing and confirming them with facility supervisor and/or designee. Contacts supervisor when leaving facility with a client and notifies facility staff of expected return time from client event. Remains with client at all times while they receive services.
In the event client is transported to hospital by emergency responder personnel:
Follows ambulance to the hospital driving Agency van.
Remains with client at all times while they receive emergency medical or mental health treatment.
When transporting/escorting client to the hospital, if client is admitted to hospital:
Contacts the facility supervisor (administrator, coordinator, manager etc.) via telephone and notifies them of client admission to hospital.
Returns to facility and documents client incident in ORION under client's profile.
Quick releases client in ORION. Immediately inventories, packs, and secures property of hospitalized client with another Resident Supervisor or employee present at all times.
Notify client's emergency contact listed in ORION profile.
If a client departs destination unauthorized:
Contacts facility supervisor (administrator, coordinator, manager etc.) via telephone and notifies them of client's unauthorized departure.
Returns to facility and documents violation in ORION under client's profile.
Notifies client's emergency contact listed in ORION profile.
Follows notification procedures to referral source as required.
Quick releases client in ORION.
Immediately inventories, packs, and secures property of AWOL or terminated clients with another Resident Supervisor or employee present at all times.
