For more information, please visit ********************* Program Overview: Intercept, developed by Youth Villages, is an evidence-based intensive, in-home program that focuses on keeping families together by preventing out-of-home placements or facilitating reunification after such placements, including foster care, residential treatment facilities, hospitalization, or juvenile detention centers. It is one of the first programs to receive the well-supported designation from Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse developed in accordance with the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) having been shown to reduce out-of-home placements and accelerate permanency for children. This program serves youth from birth to age 18 who are facing serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma, such as abuse or neglect. Services are provided by highly trained Family Intervention Specialists directly in the family's home and community-Intercept is not an office-based program. Intercept provides intensive, strength-based support tailored to each family's unique needs, ultimately helping them achieve lasting change through evidence-based mental health interventions, along with the development of new parenting and communication skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Family Intervention Specialist: * Carries a caseload of 4 to 6 families * Holds individual and family sessions with each family 3 times a week, scheduled at the convenience of the families * Conducts on-going assessment of youth to determine their needs from a strength-focused, solution-based perspective * Attends 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development to help enhance clinical skills * Drives up to 60 to 80 miles to meet with families in their homes and communities (additional travel may be required) * Collaborates with other providers, case workers, and courts to formulate a collaborative treatment plan * Provides on-call crisis support to the youth and family (schedules vary by location) * Completes accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR) * Performs other duties as assigned Additional Information: * Schedule is flexible and non-traditional as it is based around the availability of youth and families served. * Applicants must possess a current, valid driver's license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance. * Community-based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage. Engage families as essential partners in their child's mental health and social-emotional development through regular consultation, education, and collaborative planning. Deliver short-term counseling, coaching, or play-based interventions to children exhibiting emotional or behavioral concerns. Assist families in accessing appropriate community-based mental health services and ensure ongoing coordination and follow-up with service providers. Maintain clear, confidential, and timely documentation of all services in compliance with HIPAA, agency policies, and Head Start Performance Standards. Classroom Consultation and Collaboration Conduct classroom observations to assess individual child behavior, group dynamics, and the overall social-emotional climate. Work collaboratively with teaching teams, Instructional Coaches, and Disabilities Coordinators to develop and implement classroom strategies that support inclusion, regulation, and engagement for all children. Provide ongoing consultation and reflective support to classroom staff in managing challenging behaviors and promoting positive, responsive teacher-child interactions. Support teachers in implementing individualized behavior support plans developed through the CONCERN process or multidisciplinary team consultation. Offer coaching and mental health-informed strategies that help staff build resilience and respond effectively to stress, secondary trauma, and challenging classroom situations. Promote a culture of wellness through regular staff engagement, resource sharing, and mental health awareness activities. Program Development and Evaluation Develop and deliver high-quality professional development for staff on topics including trauma-informed care, social-emotional development, behavioral guidance, and staff wellness. Collaborate with program leadership and multidisciplinary team members to ensure integration of mental health supports across education, family services, and health systems. Use data and observation trends to inform continuous quality improvement and guide the development of mental health and wellness initiatives. Participate in the development, review, and revision of policies and procedures related to mental health, behavior support, and wellness, including the CONCERN process. Contribute to program self-assessment, community needs assessment, and strategic planning efforts as they relate to mental health services and outcomes. Crisis Intervention Provide timely support and guidance in response to behavioral or emotional crises involving children, families, or staff. Partner with classroom staff and the multidisciplinary team to stabilize the immediate situation and develop a plan for follow-up support. Assist in debriefing and supporting staff after crisis events, and ensure access to additional resources or referrals as needed. Respond to family mental health needs in times of trauma, loss, or other high-stress circumstances, and connect families to appropriate external resources. Participate in the development of proactive crisis response protocols and individualized safety or behavior support plans as needed. Support staff in managing their own well-being in the wake of stressful or traumatic events in the classroom or program. For more information, please visit ********************* Program Overview: Intercept, developed by Youth Villages, is an evidence-based intensive, in-home program that focuses on keeping families together by preventing out-of-home placements or facilitating reunification after such placements, including foster care, residential treatment facilities, hospitalization, or juvenile detention centers. It is one of the first programs to receive the well-supported designation from Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse developed in accordance with the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) having been shown to reduce out-of-home placements and accelerate permanency for children. This program serves youth from birth to age 18 who are facing serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma, such as abuse or neglect. Services are provided by highly trained Family Intervention Specialists directly in the family's home and community-Intercept is not an office-based program. Intercept provides intensive, strength-based support tailored to each family's unique needs, ultimately helping them achieve lasting change through evidence-based mental health interventions, along with the development of new parenting and communication skills. **TIERED PAY RATE** $17.00/hour with HS Diploma or GED $18.00/hour with Bachelor's Degree $19.00/hour with Master's Degree Opportunities for advancement. Shift: 3p-11pm Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to: Reads, initials, and dates shift reports within first 60 minutes of shift. Maintains an active presence on the floor (common and group room areas) by conducting frequent circulations of the unit at a minimum 30 minute intervals. Monitors clients to detect unusual or harmful behavior and immediately reports any concerns to supervisory or clinical staff. Checks for unsafe conditions and unit cleanliness. Documents and corrects conditions/takes steps to correct conditions as required. Completes scheduled activities including, but not limited to: focus group activities, counseling groups under appropriate clinical supervision, intakes, random alco-sensor tests, urine drug screens, dorm/room searches, and emergency drills (fire, tornado, etc.) in accordance with established policies and procedures. Monitors medication compliance and reports and documents any non-compliance to clinical and or medical staff. Listens to all clients and provides emotional support and encouragement to them. Participates in recreational activities with clients including card games, sports, puzzles, etc. Engages clients in exercises or activities and ensures their safety. Encourages clients to attend and participate in clinical, social, educational, or recreational activities. Understands and implements Individual Treatment Plans. Intervenes as necessary in crisis situations to protect clients from injuring other clients, staff, and/or themselves according to policy. Must complete 40 hours of training in the first 60 days of hire to become a Qualified Behavior Health Specialist under the Medicaid guidelines. Must be willing to demonstrate a positive attitude regarding the disease concept of addiction. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
