About the role Location: We are open for candidates from Winnemucca, Elko, or Reno in NV as well as Centennial, CO We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Plant Controller within the Orica Speciality Mining Chemicals team. The Plant Controller partners with the site management team as the key business finance interface, providing insight into underlying performance and driving accountability for results across the management team. What you will be doing Prepare site monthly business report (MBR) and lead the meetings Evaluate and maintain accuracy of general ledger and subledgers. Manage, track and report site capital spend to budget Reconcile all accounts within required timeframe and oversee preparation of all monthly bank reports. Analyze all financial records and assist in consolidation of all financial statements. Evaluate monthly financial trends to support variance analysis in coordination with Plant Manager Assist Plant Manager in forecasting operational expenses. Ensure compliance to all local, state, and Federal tax regulations. Ensure and maintain the accuracy of the physical inventory. Prepare all required correspondence and maintain all accounting files and ensure accuracy of same. Assist in preparation of annual budget. Assist in preparation of external audit. Identify all appropriate systems and procedures to maintain efficiency of all financial information. Recommend strategies to Corporate Controller and maintain knowledge on all current trends and provide training to all accounting and benefit regulations. Monitors and coordinates plant accounting deadlines for month-end close, year-end, and other reporting requirements. What you will bring Seven (7) years of related experience Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a leadership capacity preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting. About the role We are excited to announce a new opportunity as a Manager - SHES within the Orica Specialty Mining Chemicals team. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant workplace by developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programs related to Safety, Health, Environment and Security regulations. The SHES Manager will lead a team that drives a continuous improvement approach to assuring compliance and reducing risks. What you will be doing Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: * Regularly inspect workplaces to identify potential hazards through ongoing site inspections and audits. * Develop and implement inspection procedures and a schedule of routine inspections for the SHES team. * Continually re-evaluate SHES programs and initiatives with the intent to proactively identify gaps and refine and enhance existing SHES platforms. * Lead / rollout relevant Risk Assessment activities onsite (Take 5, JSERA, mKCVs). * Coordinate and/or perform validations of new and/or modified equipment and/or processes (MOC). Policy Development and Implementation: * Develop and implement SHES procedures and programs that comply with Orica policies and industry standards. * Ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to SHES protocols. * Directly manage the site Process Safety Management program. Training and Education: * Prepare SHES training schedules to cover emergency protocols, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. * Communicate SHES information and promote a safety culture. * Conduct SHES briefings and meetings to reinforce safety messages. * Works directly with facilitators (Leads and Supervisors) and the Hourly workforce to identify hazards and eliminate unsafe conditions. Incident Investigation and Analysis: * Actively participate in incident investigations to ensure root causes are determined and corrective actions implemented. * Maintain accurate records of incidents and SHES performance. This includes monitoring and gatekeeping of events in the Orica Enablon database. Compliance and Enforcement: * Lead Orica-Cyanco ICMC/ICMI recertification efforts. * Maintain permit registries / License to Operate Matrix. * Ensure compliance with relevant SHES regulations, standards, and industry best practices. * Stay up-to-date on changes in regulations and implement necessary changes. * Ensure site reporting is completed on time and in full, consistent with company, state, and federal requirements. * Represent the company in regulatory matters. Communication and Collaboration: * Communicate effectively with management, employees, and other stakeholders on SHES matters, metrics. * Collaborate with other departments to identify and address SHES concerns. * Work with Global Environmental and Sustainability teams to implement strategies for waste management, pollution control, and sustainable practices. * Provide guidance to the Site Leadership Team regarding EHS strategic objectives and regulatory compliance issues. Data Collection and Analysis: * Collect and analyze data on workplace SHES performance to identify trends and areas for improvement. * Prepare reports and presentations on SHES performance. * Monitor performance/impact of the SHES Management System and site programs. Serve as the catalyst leading the plant's overall SHES performance. What you will bring * Bachelor's degree in EHS; Engineering; or related discipline required. * Prefer CSP designation, or possess the capability to obtain external Safety certifications. * 2 years of SHES Management experience required, 4 years preferred. * Relevant experience in chemical, petrochemical or refining industry required. * Strong Process Safety Management background required (OSHA). * Strong Risk Management Plan knowledge preferred (EPA). * Understanding of Homeland Security requirements preferred (DHS). Emphasis is placed on safety and health, protection of the environment and economics, converting raw materials into liquid sodium cyanide and solid cyanide, and ensuring timely shipments to the customers. The Maintenance Welder / Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks to maintain, repair, and improve plant equipment and infrastructure. This role ensures operational reliability and compliance with safety and quality standards. As well as a basic understanding of Maintenance Technician skills. Role dimensions * Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday 4-10's * On-site as needed What you will be doing * Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication on plant equipment, piping systems, and structural components. * Read, interpret, and update blueprints, technical drawings, weld maps, and welding symbols. * Understand, inspect, and maintain welding tools and equipment to ensure good welding practices and safe operation. * Ability to plan welding work, order and assemble parts, materials, and consumables for welding jobs. * Able to qualify and follow weld procedures * Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime. * Follow Orica's safety protocols, including PPE requirements and hazard identification. * Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. * Support continuous improvement initiatives and preventive maintenance programs. * Review planned work with the supervisor ahead of time to limit downtime during the assembly process * Provide accurate and fast estimates on task completions when requested * Assist in controlling site fixed costs by following or proposing lean methodology for expenditures. Consider alternative solutions. * Basic computer knowledge to be able to manage documentation. * Adheres to all company safety protocols. What you will bring * Minimum 2 years of welding experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. * Certification in welding (AWS or equivalent), 1G - 6G plate and pipe, or the ability to pass the performance testing of each preferred. * Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and stick welding techniques. * Ability to work with carbon steel and stainless steel. * Strong understanding of safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions. * Basic understanding of NDE. Physical requirement: * Ability to climb stairs, ramps, and similar structures * Frequent repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and fingers. * Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally. Working directly and indirectly with all levels of Orica employees and external stakeholders, the role will focus primarily on the overall management and tracking of all operational functions for both solutions and solids. Emphasis is placed on safety and health, protection of the environment and economics, converting raw materials into liquid sodium cyanide and solid cyanide, and ensuring timely shipments to the customers. What you will be doing Develop people and ensure that all team members are properly trained. Set up coaching/performance improvement plans and identify/implement development opportunities. Checking and reporting that all employees are properly trained. Supervise, train, and develop subordinate staff in following standard operating procedures. Advise senior management of issues and/or risks to operations or supply for effective risk management. Supervise all day-to-day duties and activities of the specific team/process/substream. Act as back-up for the Business Process Excellence Lead for follow-up meetings and reporting with GBS and Orica Management. Manage specific team, ensure alignment, reporting, and communication, including appropriate workload allocation, implementation of appropriate backup systems, monitoring of volume and productivity. Strategic Governance Lead, drive, track, and manage the business operational duties, strategy, and framework for the site, and proactively drive the philosophy. Process Design and Standardization Lead, drive, track, and manage the overall process and SOP tasks across all operational activities. Process Management and Improvement Proactively work with Process Owners, Workstream Leads, Supervisors, and other subject matter experts to analyze and measure the effectiveness and efficiency of existing business processes. Project Management Lead, drive, track, and manage the timely execution and delivery of all operational duties. Provide guidance to the operational task owners of the individual operational tasks to ensure each project meets the planned deliverables. Handle overall reporting of shift results. Data Analytics Provide the Leadership Team with the information/analysis/recommendations/suggestions needed to make decisions about strategies and tasks related to operational efficiency and performance improvement. Change Management Work with Workstream Leads, Supervisors, and other Orica Employees to deal with minor to complex scale organizational changes in their workstreams, analyze changes, and determine their impact on business processes. Analyze overall operational tasks and workstream-specific action plans to introduce major or minor organizational changes with a minimum amount of disruption. Supervise day-to-day business process excellence activities for up to 10 employees. Rotating day and night shifts: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM Your qualifications At least 5 years of relevant experience within process or manufacturing-specific teams, including 3 years of direct people management experience. 1-3 years of process management training and coaching experience. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and customer service oriented. Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy, integrity, accountability, and good problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, well-organized, and logical, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proven ability to lead a team, including building a collaborative approach in the development of the direction and operations of the workstream. Good interpersonal and people management skills. High school diploma or a general education degree (GED) is required. Valid driver's license is required.
