Duties and Responsibilities 1. Administer, evaluate and interpret psychological tests upon the request of the school administrator through the referral system. Make recommendations based on assessments conducted. Write reports on pupils evaluated: statement of problem, tests given, observations, results, conclusions, recommendations. 2. Observe students in the classroom and on the playground, and share these observations with teachers and other professional staff. 3. Consult with principals, resource specialists, speech and language specialists, health consultants, counselors, teachers and district office personnel. 4. Interpret test or observational findings to parents as requested, regarding pupil=s potential, achievement level and personality adjustment, and recommend to parents ways of helping pupils, or suggest sources from which they may seek further assistance. 5. Counsel individual pupils regarding test findings, academic problems, and social or emotional problems as requested by the school administrator through the referral system. 6. Conduct groups of students in skills of goal setting, problem solving, conflict resolution, successful peer relationships and communication. 7. Successful candidates will possess the following qualities and characteristics: Providing a “Christ Centered” education that integrates seamlessly and winsomely with their content area Has a dynamic, growing faith and is a spiritual role model for students Maintains a commitment to the school's statement of faith in action and belief Skills in selecting and using appropriate technology for productivity and instruction Bachelor's Degree required Master's Degree (in education field) and/or teaching credential preferred Teachers with 4 or more assigned periods are awarded benefits and all employees are expected to fully comply with the above job description.
