Job Description
This position is responsible for:
* Supervision of industrial electrical installation at the various locations of installation, and provides experience in construction management and contract supply completion
* Development work during the project cycle to include bid/cost analysis
* Confirmation of electrical designs
* Project scheduling assistance in and of evaluation for 3rd party contract bid development
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Manage multiple projects of high complexity
* Supervision of electrical construction crew, including company employees and subcontractors
* Oversee the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project's electrical engineering and interconnection work
* Establish budgets, including estimating requirements for internal and external engineering work.
* Perform and oversee preparation of electrical and structural feasibility studies, electrical system and specific project analysis, calculations and designs
* Respond to the operating and construction organization needs
* Provide support for planning and scoping of new facilities and system upgrades
* Support corporate state and local permitting and project activities
* Responsible for implementation of applicable electrical codes and regulations during project execution
* Interface with an array of individuals in order to define and carry out work requirements for initial development and project type expansions of various size high voltage interconnection and transmission facilities
* Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous period of time and read and understand maps
* Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays when necessary
* Must be able to travel extensively to other locations, including international and rural areas to work on other projects

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
* Minimum 4 years electrical education
* Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be accountable for individual and team results
* The ability to motivate self and others to set and achieve high performance standards
* Must have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information in a manner that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job duties
* Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and use of the Internet
* Proficient in AutoCAD and PLS CADD is preferred
* Must possess at any time a valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT's auto insurance carrier
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* The ability to lift 50 pounds periodically
* The ability to navigate and work in remote field locations and work outdoors in difficult weather conditions.
* The ability to walk, hike, and work on steep, rough terrain for extended periods of time.
* The ability to safely operate 4WD light vehicles on highways and off-road.
* Must be able to frequently climb ladders, climb to and work off of elevated platforms, ladders and walkways
* Protective equipment and fire-retardant clothing must be worn in the performance of some duties

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
* Must have the ability to understand procedures and instructions to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school;
* 5 years drilling experience in the mechanical operations and procedures of a drilling and/or work over rig, to include firsthand knowledge at each position;
* Must have strong technical, teambuilding, operational, and problem-solving skills;
* Must have prior supervisory experience;
* Must have excellent verbal, visual and written communications skills;
* Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation;
* Must have the ability to communicate at a level that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job duties;
* Must have the ability to communicate verbally and visually in a clear and effective manner including in noisy and low illumination environments;
* Must be able to safely operate a forklift, heavy equipment and auxiliary equipment;

Overview
The ConstructionSupervisor (CS) is a field leadership position covering multiple (3-6) solar (photovoltaic) installation crews. The CS is responsible for ensuring the Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Customer Experience of the residential and small commercial solar installation projects that are completed by the field installation crews. The CS is responsible for organizing, motivating, managing, and training the crews in the field on a daily basis. The CS will have a track record of proven leadership abilities (communication, relationship building, training & development, employment decisions) as well as solar installation management experience. The CS will be accountable to key performance metrics.
Responsibilities
Maintain advanced knowledge of Electrical and General Construction codes, and be the construction Subject Matter Expert for the branch
Work with the Branch Operations Manager to increase or decrease construction capacity as needed
Work closely with the Project Planner to ensure the efficient execution of the construction schedule
Organize and optimize crew structure and work schedule for highest productivity
Conduct pre-construction project reviews to determine resource requirements of the project
Clearly understand and communicate installation Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and results, along with any construction incentive contests
Review crew KPIs and provide feedback and performance management for field staff
Lead and assist in the training of the field construction staff including; safety, quality, customer service, efficiency and administrative responsibilities
Conduct quality control and safety inspections providing feedback to the construction staff, the Engineering Department, and the Branch Operations Manager
Ensure all projects are being completed with a high level of safety and quality
Quickly and accurately handle required administrative duties including but not limited to; Training documentation, Inspection documentation, Project Documentation Completion, Field Purchase Orders and Timecard Data Entry
Conduct weekly safety "Tool Box Talk" meetings to ensure the proper use of electrical safety practices, fall protection and PPE
Work closely with the Warehouse personnel to ensure crews are accurately and efficiently stocking/restocking installation vehicles and project materials
Demonstrate competency and confidence in leading mechanical and electrical work on both roof and ground mounted solar projects
Relate to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complements, questions and concerns
Meet inspectors and walk them through projects, discuss NEC Code in detail as needed
Depending on branch needs may be responsible for documenting and completing service calls
Assist on project installations ensuring their successful completion as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of construction experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
Must have a Electrical Certification License

Reporting to job sites as directed. Travel and work at remote locations requiring out-of-town stays for periods of a few days to several weeks at a time may be required.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
7+ years of demonstrated success leading construction crews as a foreman or other supervisory role. Pay commensurate with knowledge, capabilities, and experience.
Ability to safely and effectively manage a crew of 3 to 10 workers performing a variety of general construction activities.
Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal communication and comprehension skills.
Consistent professionalism and positivity.
Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to pass pre-employment and annual physicals, including alcohol/drug screening.
Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred.
Experience operating various types of heavy equipment and performing a variety of labor tasks preferred.
