This position is primarily based at Surburban Hospital and the outpatient clinic in Bethesda, MD. This position will also be credentialed at all regional ambulatory surgery centers.
Examples of Work Performed:

The candidate will provide medical services in both the inpatient and outpatient environments. Clinical responsibilities include actively participating in continued growth of the Hand Surgery programs at the JHU SOM. Teaching responsibilities include participating in the education of Orthopedic Surgery residents, fellows, and medical students. Research responsibilities include actively pursuing and participating in research activities as well as mentoring residents and other faculty in research endeavors. Required to take emergency call.

Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Reviews medical files and provides recommendations for utilization review, chart reviews, medical necessity, appropriateness of care and return to work, short and long-term disability, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Group health and workers' compensation claims. • Meets (when required) with Concentra Physician Review Medical Director to discuss quality of care and credentialing and state licensure issues.• Maintain proper credentialing and state licenses and any special certifications or requirements necessary to perform the job.• Returns cases in a timely manner with clear concise and complete rationales and documented criteria. • Telephonically contacts providers and interacts with other health professionals in a professional manner. Qualifications

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
