SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
+ Serve as an attending colon and rectal surgeon.
+ Participate in the clinical education, training and development of residents through practice-site rotation activities and conferences.
+ Participate in the development of unique and collaborative research specific to colon and rectal surgery.
+ Participate in the administrative operations of the Clinic sub-section / section or University division based upon assignments determined by the Section Chief and/or Sub-section Chief.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Board Certified General Surgeon with post-graduate training in Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Following a schedule for making rounds

The Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist will assist the Licensed Practitioner in the completion of fluoroscopic and specialized interventional and Neuro-Interventional procedures while using sterile technique. They prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations or facility policy.
Essential Job Functions
* Performs high quality diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment to evaluate the cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, peripheral venous systems and adheres to exam protocols except when deviation is clinically necessary.
* Prepares patients for procedures, including explaining the procedure and providing instructions in order to obtain the desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize patient anxiety.
* Contacts referring physician (or other appropriate medical personnel) for clarification prior to performing an exam if there is a suspicion that the exam order is incorrect.
* Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information, enter preliminary reporting, and document any critical findings in accordance with department policy.
* Completes assigned tasks in a time frame appropriate for the situation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1.Drives the MICU vehicle as needed to respond to runs in a safe and appropriate manner.

3.The MICU EMT will assist with patient care prior to transport.
4.Acts as a professional representative of Mercy Health to the community.

6.Assists in maintaining the vehicle, equipment and supplies as defined by departmental policy and procedures.
7.Attends internal and external educational meetings, keeps current in knowledge, skills, and clinical competencies through professional journals, professional organizations, etc.
8.Accompanies neonatal team on neonatal transports by air or ground. Assists the neonatal team in loading and preparing isolette in vehicle as needed. Acts as resource to team with operational issues related to vehicle and/or equipment.
9.Assists in the communications center as needed or when call volume dictates. Must be able to dispatch MICU or aircraft on notifications to requesting and receiving facilities as needed.
10.Independently assess inventory of stock medical supplies and plans accordingly in reordering of supplies and equipment.
11.Ensures that equipment is retrieved from the hospital, returned to Life Flight, cleaned and labeled in preparation for return to requesting EMS agencies and/or hospitals.
12.Collaborates with flight nurse on any other day-to-day duties that arise and need attention.
13.Completes annual flight crewmember training.
14.Adheres to the standards and policies of the Corporate Responsibility Program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and reporting to designated Manger (or employer hotline) any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or policies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
