QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a Registered Nursing Assistant at this facility (NAR) Must complete and pass the Medication administration for Unlicensed Personnel course as offered at an approved training site. Must know, understand, and use Standard Precautions RESPONSIBILITIES: Receive report from the charge nurse after starting your med pass or your shift. May administer oral medications, oral supplements, nasal sprays, inhalers, & scheduled nebulizer treatments, eye drops, and ear drops, suppositories for bowel function or topical medications that are regularly scheduled. In the case of PRN medications, the TMA must check with the licensed charge nurse after administration. All PRN medications must be authorized by the licensed charge nurse prior to administration.
