OSF Healthcare offers numerous radiotherapy modalities including advanced linear accelerator treatment techniques using Varian's TrueBeam platform (VMAT/SBRT/SRS/HyperArc/RGM/SGRT), multi-vault HDR Bravos Brachytherapy with en-suite imaging, Gamma Knife Radiosurgery (soon to be upgrade to Esprit), Proton Beam therapy using Varian's ProBeam 360, Theranostics and Y-90 Therapy (both supported by NM). OSF Healthcare operates several radiotherapy departments across Illinois, all managed using the ARIA Oncology Management System. Treatment planning is carried out using Eclipse and RayStation (for proton planning). Brachytherapy planning is performed with BrachyVision. MiM Maestro rounds out the TPS tools. Quality Assurance is managed using SunCheck (with Automation) and a host of test equipment including IC Profilers, 1D/3D tanks, imaging phantoms, etc. The successful candidate will join a team of eight medical physicists, eight dosimetrists, 14 radiation oncologists, and other supporting staff. Responsibilities will include providing physics services for proton beam therapy (individuals will receive training and education), X-Ray and electron beam therapy, HDR brachytherapy, simulation imaging, optical surface monitoring, respiratory motion management, treatment planning, commissioning and acceptance, and routine quality assurance. The Radiation Physicist is responsible for performing all aspects of quality assurance in radiation therapy in order to ensure accurate, safe delivery of radiation therapy treatments and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Radiation Physicist maintains the skills necessary to perform regular monitoring, testing, and calibration of radiotherapy equipment and planning systems. The Radiation Physicist reviews and performs treatment plan calculations for external beam, brachytherapy, or other treatment applications. Proper credentials must be maintained to prepare, receive, and handle potentially hazardous radioactive labeled packages. Sign on Bonus offered of $5,000 (2 year commitment) Overview This position will assist patients at both locations: OSF Center for Health Rt 91 and INI (Illinois Neurological Institute) in Peoria, IL This audiologist will primarily see adult patients in the clinic for diagnostic hearing testing along with the programming and dispensing of hearing aids. Will also see pediatric patients. POSITION SUMMARY: Performs services including evaluation, diagnosing, treatment and management of patients with hearing and/or balance dysfunction referred by a medical doctor or self. In doing so, determines the most likely site of damage to the auditory/vestibular system and anticipates the degree of social disability resulting from damage/loss. Predicts potential benefits to patients for hearing aid use, along with cochlear implants and/or osseointegrated implant use. Counsels and educates patients and families in habilitative or rehabilitative practices, monitors patients' progress and maintains clinical records according to established procedures. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a Doctoral degree in Audiology. Current state license as an Audiologist, state license for hearing aid dispensing, certificate of clinical competence from ASHA. Other Skills/Knowledge: Work requires the interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and families when conducting tests, providing treatment and with physicians, speech and language pathologists and other closely related clinical professionals when gathering and exchanging patient information. Work requires analytical ability to administer and evaluate standardized audiological tests, evaluate results, develop treatment plans, monitor patients' progress, and troubleshoot amplification devices. The job incumbent is required to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s).
