The Paint Prep Apprentice is responsible for wiping, sanding, and inspecting all parts to be painted as well as plugging and masking all parts. Other required tasks include blowing water, shot blow of area, and operation of overhead hoist to hang parts.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Wipe, sand, inspect all parts, up to and, including preparation of painted parts for paint repair.
- Plug and mask all parts and blow any and all excess water and shot from cavities within the parts to allow for proper paint adhesion and needs to be familiar with the operation of the overhead hoist for hanging parts.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards.
- Inspect completed parts for quality, validate components meet production and quality standards.
- Assist in driving back defects to the point of origin
- Maintain inventory levels by identifying, labeling, stocking and recording materials and supplies where applicable.

Position Overview:
The Line Lead, Build role is a front-line supervisor role, responsible for directly managing and developing a team of hourly associates in an Inspection Center to regularly achieve production targets. This role is not visa eligible.
Pay rate - $19.00-$28.00 hourly
What you'll be doing:
Manage the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center safely for repairs, while meeting or exceeding set production and quality goals.
Meet or exceed inventory production goals on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Oversee day-to-day activities of assigned team; identify team's strengths and weaknesses; determine areas of opportunity and the appropriate steps to improve.
Engage assigned team, provide appropriate coaching, development and performance management; offer feedback and demonstrate desired skills.
Create a work and team environment that inspires positive communication, team cohesion, and adherence to Carvana's Values.
Proactively communicate information to team members, providing clear understanding of expectations, performance measures, and goals.

Shapes Precision Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Painter to join our production team. This role is responsible for prepping, painting, silk screening, and finishing a variety of materials to meet rigorous aerospace quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced with industrial painting processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Prep, paint, silk screen, and finish various materials in accordance with specifications.
Perform all tasks in a safe, reasonable manner per the Shapes Employee Handbook.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment; support 6S and Lean initiatives.
Comply with all quality policies, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Request required supplies for application, maintenance, and personal protection.
Ensure parts are properly prepared, including sanding, sandblasting, plating, and hardware insertion-prior to painting.
Hang or rack parts to ensure efficient application and optimal results.
Prepare and apply wash coats, primers, and paints according to manufacturer specifications.
Cure applications per manufacturer specifications.
Remove all masking from parts after painting.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Complete all required operation entries and ensure accurate wand-out information.
Dispose of waste appropriately using designated containers or bins.
