Job Summary
The Industrial Engineer will review and restructure design engineering Bill of Materials (B.O.M.) through operations coding and parts grouping to produce assembly B.O.M. to support several production areas and facilities. This role will develop work instructions and preliminary line balance of new products through assembly documentation; improve and maintain current documentation to support the assembly plants.
YOUR IMPACT:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
* Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh Corporation's engineering standards and processes.
* Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plants, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
* Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity; may be responsible for managing multiple projects.
* Collaborate with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
* Identify and design process improvements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.
* Determine appropriate assembly fixtures, plant layouts, and workstations to maximize space.
* Establish manpower requirements, line and sub-assembly balancing data, and expectancy time performances.
* Provide technical support and assistance as a resource in assigned area.
* Determine and propose process improvements to meet production levels, utilizing lean/six sigma principles and methodologies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering or related field.
* One (1) - two (2) or more years of experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience working within the heavy equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry.
* Experience in automotive assembly operations with application of Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel.
* Prior experience with managing data and producing charts in Excel.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Analytical, critical thinking, attention to detail, communication and patterning skills to evaluate data and provide recommendations.

Pay Range:
$73,200.00 - $117,800.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions. About the Role:
As an Intern ManufacturingEngineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the engineering team to optimize manufacturing processes and improve production efficiency. This position offers hands-on experience in analyzing current manufacturing methods, identifying areas for improvement, and assisting in the implementation of innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and production to ensure seamless integration of engineering changes. Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in ManufacturingEngineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Previous internship or project experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of data analysis tools such as Minitab or MATLAB.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Interest in automotive or fuel system manufacturing
Understanding of GD&T and basic dimensional inspection methods
Responsibilities:
Assist in the analysis and documentation of existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and potential improvements.
Support the development and testing of new manufacturing techniques and equipment under the guidance of senior engineers.
Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
Participate in data collection and analysis to monitor process performance and quality metrics.
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, process documentation, and presentations for internal stakeholders.

The College Internship Program at Yanfeng provides you with real world projects via full-time work through the summer break with hands-on, career-specific experience (from May through the beginning of August). Work Environment:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with ManufacturingEngineers on new product introductions, process improvement projects, and equipment upgrades.
