Emphasis on aesthetic appearance of welds and criticality of application are special considerations for this job. Understand and apply the applicable weld inspection criteria. Cut, grind, fit, and bend parts to fit weldments as required. Clean and deburr welds to satisfy customers and applicable weld codes. Work together with team members to assemble and weld large components. Perform testing and inspection of welds to meet applicable quality requirements. Perform weld rework to applicable weld codes. Perform weld repairs per accepted procedures. Salvage and rebuild parts as directed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Requires the use of complicated drawings, welding symbols, shop mathematics, weld shop tools, protractors, scales, squares, calipers, etc. Equivalent to four years of high school plus technical training in welding. Must pass any required tests associated with applicable standards, up to and including, but not limited to; AWS, ISO, MIL STD, International, ASNT. GMAW Certification or 3-5 years of equivalent experience. STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience welding large, heavy industrial equipment. Experience welding with stainless steel filler metal and associated equipment.
