Job Description
EXL Risk Control is looking for self-directed independent contractors who possess excellent
communication skills, computer proficiency, and a commitment to meeting client quality and
timeliness standards. You will work from your own home or office, and service onsite
survey/inspection assignments in the Pierce, NE area, and other locations within approximately 45+ miles of Pierce.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for scheduling on-site surveys and providing risk control reports to
insurance industry clients. These reports contain information necessary to underwrite a
commercial insurance policy and may include recommendations to control and/or correct
potential loss producing conditions associated with that policy. You will be expected to
manage assignments you accept, successfully secure customer appointments within a
local territory and complete work assignments on time.
Our Risk Control Inspectors evaluate businesses behind the scenes to identify hazards and
improve safety, mitigating risks for our insurance company clients. The type of businesses
we survey are commercial operations, including retail, restaurants, hotels, apartments,
construction jobsites, churches, schools, etc. Most surveys are focused on assessing the
business for Property and General Liability coverage, but we also service other commercial
insurance lines of business including Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability,
Inland Marine and Builders Risk.
Qualifications
Preferred experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claim,
loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety experience is a plus, but all interested

Perform a variety of inspections, routing maintenance, repairs as well as diagnostic problems. Experience working on Semi trucks and heavy equipment. Communicating information with Pro Crane manager, project managers, foreman, and peers either by phone, written, or e-mail form.
Essential Functions
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, tune-ups and lubricating equipment and machinery. Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including but not limited to belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings and other potentially troublesome areas.
Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure proper working order.
Inspect, repair and/or service brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, booms, rigging, air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, electrical, hydraulic and other important parts to ensure they are in proper working order and adjust/align/tighten/reassemble or repair as necessary. Outsource repairs as appropriate.

* Core Measures/Performance Improvement- monitors and revises processes to improve or enhance compliance.
* Evidence Based Practice- evaluates opportunities and implements practice changes as appropriate.
* Regulatory- knowledgeable regarding requirements, monitors and ensures the unit and staff are consistently survey ready.

4. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
* Maintains confidentiality per policy.
* Maintains current competency by attending unit and hospital based educational offerings either in person or online.
* Actively engages in unit activities and team meetings and attends required meetings.
* Demonstrates active engagement in department activities and evidence-based initiatives.
* Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and hospital.
* Demonstrates willingness to float to other units as needed.
* Accepts assignment of preceptor for new staff.
* Accepts responsibility for mentoring healthcare students.
* Ensures the quality and safety of the patients and staff if serving in a relief charge nurse role.
Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary.

The requirements listed below must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or temporary permit from the State of Nebraska required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within one year from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within one year from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention program obtained within six full months from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) obtained within 18 months from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) obtained within one year from date of hire (Travelers-required upon hire) required.
