Provides Training and assists Mechanics on methods for diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment. Work with Maintenance Manager to provide daily communications to operations on available trucks and trucks out of service for repair and other operational needs. Shadow and train with maintenance manager on Waste Connections top shop program, and other compliance programs. Promote collaboration between and among all employees on the campus. Responsible to work with parts clerk daily to ensure technician needs are met. Communicates regularly with the District Maintenance Manager and all shop personnel, daily documented tailgates. Assists in monthly financial projections and adheres to monthly and annual budget guidelines. Perform quality control inspection and work observations. Perform fleet inspections with operations team. Ensures adherence to the corporate safety program. Work with the maintenance manager to help develop the skills necessary to become a supervisor or maintenance manager at another Waste Connections District. Knowledge and Skills: Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements. Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division, and district objectives. Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. Requirements: 3+ years mechanic experience with truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
